Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop was one of the few Chinese Restaurant that use vegetable oil to prepare their dishes. The taste of all entrees and desserts was pretty good. The only complaint is the food was expensive and dishes were small portion, not really ideal for sharing with many. For dinner, we ordered the following:(1) Specialty Steamed Chicken,(2) Chu Hau Beef Brisket,(3) Steamed Fish Brisket in Black Bean Sauce,(4) Steamed Beef, and(5) Steamed Chinese Broccoli. The Specialty Steamed Chicken consisted of steamed half chicken and served with ginger-scallion oil. The chicken meat was really tender. The Chu Hau Beef Brisket consisted of chicken broccoli, beef tendon, and beef brisket marinated with spices and served in a brown sauce. The Prawn Balls in Sweet and Sour Sauce consisted of stir-fried deep-fried shrimp, peaches, and bell peppers in a sweet and sour sauce. The Steamed Fish Brisket in Black Bean Sauce which consisted of five pieces of fish brisket topped with red pepper, ginger, and spring onion and served in a non-spicy black bean sauce. It was quite flavorful. The Steamed Beef consisted of lightly seasoned beef topped with green scallion and served with a spicy soy sauce. The Chinese Broccoli came with oyster sauce for dipping. I was disappointed that they sold out of the Osmanthus Jelly with Medlar because I was looking forward to try it. For dessert, we shared the following:(1) Stewed Pear with Almonds,(2) Red Bean Sweet Soup with Lotus Seed, and(3) Black Sesame Soup. Unlike the similar kind served in Chinese Restaurants in the US, I liked how dessert wasn’t too sweet.
