When I first moved to HK about 5 months ago, my husband and I were looking for a place to change USD to HKD at a strong rate. We found World Wide! Aside from changing monies,
Many Filipinos and Chinese conduct their small business as well — small Filipino food restaurants, Filipino groceries, Jewelry Stores, tailors, clothing, bags, Phones, etc. Being a Filipino — American myself, I was so happy to find this place!
The Filipino food is oily, heavy, but ohhhh so yummy. LOL. So, I can’t eat it all the time. Some popular dishes are pancit (similar to a lo mien chinese noodles), Chicken Adobo, and Care Care (oxtail stew). A yummy dessert is Halo-​Halo!
It’s super packed on the weekends so if you don’t mind your personal space being invaded, then you’ll be fine. Just be sure to keep your bag zipped up and close to you — it’s really an easy place for people to get pick-​pocketed.
I also buy the load for my iPhone here. It’s convenient for the time being as my phone is a USA iPhone. The hardware is different from the HK iPhone so for right now, it’s the more affordable option.
I’d also assume that most little shops don’t take credit-​card so just have some cash on hand.
