As an independent opticians we offer a comprehensive choice of products to our patients from budget to leading brands and all types of contact lenses currently available on the market.

We are an exclusive Dior eyewear stockist but we also carry many more brands some of which are Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Valentino, Fendi, Nike, Jaguar, Armani, Silhouette and many more.

History

Established in 2002.

The business was establised by Ailbhe ní Ráighe FAOI in 2002. Since then she has been joined in the business by her husband Fergus Patten. The business currently emplys 3 staff Ms Josephine Bird (practice manager), Ms Aisling Kearney (optical assistant) and Ms. Patricia Harte FAOI (optometrist)

In 2010 the business relocated to a purpose built premises on Cross St.

Ailbhe R.

Business Owner

Ailbhe is originally from Indreabhán, Co. Galway.

She trained as an optometrist in the Dublin Institute of Technology and graduated in 1999 with a Higher Diploma in Optometry. Since then she has completed 3 behavioural optometry modules and 2 c city university masters modules in diabetic retinopathy and paediatric eyecare.

She worked as an optometrist in Specsavers in Galway for a number of years before establising her own practice in Athenry.

In 2004 she also established an independent optometry practice in Clifden, Co Galway.
