History
Established in 1986.
There has been a pub on this site for at least 200 years. It was owned by generations of Healys before John and Anne Blair bought the pub in 1986. It all starting with a humble ham sandwich. Soon hot dinners were being offered. Blairs Inn’s menu grew as word spread about Anne’s fantastic cooking. Soon people were coming in their droves. John and Anne won numerous national awards for their hospitality and delicious food. In 2002 the Blair brothers, Duncan& Richard, took over the reins of the business. They both share their parents passion for food and customer care. Duncan is a qualified chef and both are self confessed craft beer nuts.
Meet the Business Owner
Duncan B.
Business Owner
I run Blairs Inn bar and restaurant along with my brother Richie. I am chef and general dogsbody, while Richie is the inhouse beer expert (although I am endeavouring to match his wealth of knowledge and expertise … Hic!)
It’s exciting times right now in the Irish food & drink industry. We already have a fantastic array of artisan food producers to choose from both locally & across the country. More recently there has been huge growth in the number of microbreweries. Indeed we hope to make our beer available to our customers in the near future. Lots of ‘work’ to be done in the mean time.
Our job (if you want to call it that), as we see it, is to make this pub and restaurant the place that we would most like to eat and drink in ourselves. We hope that when people visit us that they can see our passion for fantastic local produce and craft beer oozing from every corner of the place. If you do come, be sure to ask for either one of us and we’d be delighted to meet you.
