One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. Such a wonderful meal that we will always remember.

Amazing little place. It can be hard to find but keep looking for the signs and the bright yellow building. I had the Irish stew and my husband had the hamburger. We both loved our meals. We sat by the little fire and just took it all in. Seriously the best place so far we have eaten at. The stew had the most meat in it compared to the places I have tried. On your way through the Ring of Kerry, stop here for a drink, a meal, or both. You won’t be disappointed!

Great Guinness, delicious food, roaring fire. All around, an excellent vibe with the perfect traditional Irish pub feel. Just the cure for a weary hiker along the Kerry Way.

Great people!!! The people and staff were so friendly and nice and the atmosphere made your checks hurt because you were smiling so much! The food and drink were great. We had the roast of the day; 2 chickens and a lamb which were amazing!!! The chicken wings for a starter were a favorite and they poured A good Guinness!!! They allow dogs as long as they don’t bother the people eating, we met Barkley a cute lil pup who is a regular!

First of all, please note that there are two Blind Pipers on Unilocal — not sure why! So I will leave the same review on both. Its really hard for me to leave this review because I just loooooooooove the Blind Piper and can go on and on about how its an amazing representation of a true Irish pub that will welcome you with open arms. There are tons of regulars that patron the pub, not to mention families with cute children, who dart in and out of diners. The staff and regulars at The Blind Piper are so friendly, it just really makes you feel instantly at home. Its our favorite pub in Ireland, no contest. We’ve spent hours and hours here, inside and outside, just enjoying pub life. The food here is incredible. I’ve pretty much eaten everything on the menu. Highlights for me include their amazing tomato soup, their BLT on the lunch menu(OMG, I want one now!), their lamb, Guinness stew, and of course, their burger. Everything here tastes like your mom made it, but with some flair. The chef is super talented and the specials are always divine. We also love the live music here. We’ve enjoyed terrific Irish music into the wee hours of the AM from The Blind Piper. And yes, free wifi! YAY! Just go in the backroom on the left when you walk in — it doesn’t work in the room with the fire place. Another bonus? The farmer’s market held here on the weekends is an absolute must-see and full of terrific artisans and great Irish crafts. I’m still kicking myself for not purchasing some amazing art prints. This is a great place to stop if you need refreshment while on the Ring of Kerry or driving by on your way to Derrynane. Amazing. I hope you love it just as much as me!

Best pub in Caherdaniel village… (5* might be slightly biased due to nostalgic memories of summer holidays here as kid back when the TK flowed freely and the sun shone ALL of the time…) Its still a great little pub. Loads of character. Mix of locals and tourists during the summer, starts to get quiet around end of September. Good bit of craic at the weekend as there’s a group of local musicians does a session. Great pints of Guinness and Smithwicks. To be honest, the food is only ok but as your not exactly spoiled for choice in the area so its better than nothing, is relatively cheap and very handy.

great great place, on Sundays there is a small market, cakes, fish, and other goodies. Can be crowded during the summer, but off season, when the sun’s going down, a great place to end the day.

LOVE Blind Piper. We have friends who own a home near Caherdaniel and have visited them twice now. On each visit we ate/drank at the Blind Piper multiple times. It truly epitomizes Irish pub. The menu is scrawled on a chalk board(typical in Ireland), and includes all the standard Irish fare done beautifully: Irish stew, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, etc. The food is homey, hearty, filling, and good. They have great Irish«brown bread,» too. The service is warm, if slow, but the pace of life in general is a lot slower than American rush-rush. It’s a welcome and appreciated change not to feel like someone is hovering over you waiting to clear a table for the next patrons. In fact, you get the feeling you’re encouraged to linger over your pint and enjoy the company you’re keeping. The atmosphere is perrrrfect Ireland, too: dark woods, low ceilings, peat fire burning in the fireplace, pub stools, cramped booths. Just wonderful. Not to mention the place is crawling with charming locals conversing loudly and happily in their lyrical Brogue. This is definitely not a tourist destination, which makes it all the better. There’s Guinness on tap(the real deal, not the export stuff). There’s also Smithwick’s and Bulmer’s hard cider on draught. I’m not usually a hard cider fan, but Bulmer’s is crisp, dry, and delicious. If you find yourself in Caherdaniel, make your way to the Blind Piper. I guarantee you will be as delighted and charmed as we were.

Tiny, small town local pub. Man, I loved this place! It was the absolute perfect cure for a cold, rainy day in Ireland and I really did not want to leave. Traditional Irish pub separated into two sides; the quaint older bar side(probably about 1,000 years old) and the newer bar/restaurant side, which looks and feels new, which I wouldn’t waste my time sitting in. The cozy bar side seats about 20 max and hosts one fireplace that they wisely burn the delightful aromatic peat which insures guests won’t want to leave too soon, myself included. A few tiny tables barely able to accommodate 2 to 3 people who might choose to have a pint alongside their lunch. I only saw a small handful of local residents, some of which were speaking Gaelic which made me feel as if I was sitting in an Irish version of a Currier & Ive’s painting. That alone, makes this place awesome! Cozy & relaxing and just the place to get a true taste of day-to-day life in a small Irish town. I have to say, after recently visiting various websites; I was disappointed to see what appears to be an Americanized menu now since I was there nearly 2yrs ago. Maybe they have two different menus?(Guess I’ll have to return to find out.) The bar menu I remember, had a limited, yet all inclusive standard favorite Irish fares. I will come back!

A great place for lunch if you’re driving around the Ring of Kerry. Try the seafood chowder! Nice garden for eating outside if the weather is halfway reasonable, or you have youngsters with you.
