I love TK Maxx. I was also well impressed to find out they had one right down the road from where I was living. All this time I have been traveling to the one in St. Stephens Green and there was one five minutes from my front door! It’s as good as the one at St. Stephens Green, but this one is a LOT less crazy as it doesn’t get the huge deluge of foot traffic the on in the shopping centre does. Makes it much more enjoyable if you are just browsing and don’t want to deal with a mob.

I’m not a big shopper of things I really don’t need. I’m usually on a budget anyway so TK Maxx suits me well for that. It has a wide range of clothes, bags, shoes and some home-ware all under one roof. I much prefer this one to Stephen’s green as it is more open and spacious. Ideally you have to shop here early in the day mid week to avoid the crazy shoppers. They like to make a huge mess of everything and throw stuff everywhere. What is wrong with these people?! I’d like to see the staff be a bit friendlier and more polite but then again, customer service in retail in Dublin isn’t fantastic anyway… You definitely have to be in the mood to trawl through the railings of stuff. But can be worth it if you find something great.

I suspect that the general«cheapo» layout of these stores is to convince the customers that they are getting a bargain. Clothes are often squashed onto rails in an unfriendly way. Personally I find this irritating and often too much trouble to bother — … must be a male shopper characteristic. Incidentally it appears that it is a UK chain. I had always assumed that it was a US one. Padraig O’Dea Eaton Square Monkstown

This TK Maxx is much, much bigger than the one in Stephen’s Green. I was here last December to do some last minute Christmas shopping, and there was bedlam — people grabbing things out of eachother’s hands, clothes strewn all over the floor, rails all mixed up and people, people everywhere. That said, where isn’t like this in the run up to Christmas? And extra kudos — buying your presents in TK Maxx makes it look like you’ve spent a fortune, when really you’ve spent about 20% of the original price tag. The clothes and accessories are(mostly) top quality, and there’s often designer gear from the likes of Calvin Klein and John Rocha at knock-down prices. It takes a bit of searching to find the gems, but it is worth the effort — dig in and grab it before someone else does.

Think of any other TK Maxx you have ever been in… get a good image of the mayhem… have it in there good? now. Multiply that by fifty… and you have htis store… This is TK Maxx gone super mad… and they are not apologising for it one bit! The place is full of allt he same stuff but for some reason its all ove rthe loors and in baby’s mouths and flying through the air… Oh really just avoid it…
