History

Established in 2012.

The View Restaurant and bar is the ideal place to unwind. It has a uniquely designed bar and restaurant that offers panoramic views of Concra Wood Golf course and the surrounding lake of Lough Muckno.

Concra Wood golf club opened it’s doors in 2008, Designed by Christy O’ Connor Jnr and Snr. It has a setting like no other, nestled into the drumlins of Castleblayney. Playing a round of golf at Concra Wood is an unforgettable experience finished off with a drink and a bite to eat over looking the course in the restaurant and bar area.

The grounds of Concra Wood are steeped in history with the ruins of The Temple and what is known as McMahons castle or the battery, over looking Hope Castle and Lough Muckno park with beautiful views of the surrounding drumlins of Castleblayney.

The View Restaurant is situated at Concra Woods Golf Club in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan. It overlooks Lough Muckno and the views are stunning as the name suggests. The golf course is not for the faint hearted as it is built around the lake with many very steep climbs so make sure you hire a buggy. The food in the restaurant was excellent especially the real homemade chips, the best i’v tasted for a long time. The staff are really friendly and helpful too so if you visit Castleblaney be sure to call to the View for a tasty good value meal.
