I’ve been here so often, mainly because I pass it on my way to work. They do good deals on biscuits so shopping for work’s coffee morning is easy. It’s also handy for all sorts of household goods such as cereal and loo roll. There’s an atm in store as well as a sandwich and deli counter. They don’t have a huge selection of frozen or fresh food, but good for fruit, pastries and chocolate! They don’t automatically give receipts though. I’ve come a cropper of this a few times because I have to put in receipts and if I’m not handed one automatically I tend to forget about it.

This Spar has become an integral part of my day. Every workday morning I swing in to the rather narrow parking area in front of the shop as though I am starring in a remake of a Starsky & Hutch movie. I don’t quite slide across the bonnet but that is not to say that I haven’t thought about doing it! Main reason for the extreme urgency — coffee! Coffee = € 1.80 Breakfast Roll = € 3.20 Chat with the staff = Priceless! Everything you could hope for in a local shop.

This is the place to go when you’re sick of the food in UCD you can’t face another potato or canteen dinner and the thought of a plate of chips repulse you. What you need is a crusty baguette filled with your favourite fillings. Now it is a bit of a trek out to this spar but on a sunny day it is nice to walk out the Clonskeagh avenue and watch the boys playing football on the pitches that line the road! Of course rolls are only one of the things that can be got I this spar, it has all of the other things you would expect from a spar including the newspapers, this is a very popular destination for those who want their Sunday papers I will have you know! With bird avenue just down the road it can have rush hours on a Sunday morning at 9am as the mass goers crowd in here for the indo and a croissant!
