Standard stuff from Insomnia, I dislike their coffee but their cakes are some of the best! The red velvet cake, pecan slice and flapjacks are yummy. I like how the menu changes with the seasons. I had a Matcha Latte here and it was disgusting. But I just don’t like Matcha. The place itself is kinda in the Meadows and Byrne store. There are no windows so it doesn’t feel very nice to sit in and relax. Much better to take away items and sit outside.

Their coffee is good, service is fast, and they have a good selection of healthier type drinks. Only issue is their bathroom is at the back of the entire lower ground floor. And it needed a good clean(i despise dirty bathrooms). Other then that all fine.

Dark place, no windows… petty!

I was meeting a friend for a coffee so headed here they have a special deal at the moment June 2010 for a drink and a panini for € 6 which is a saving of € 2.35. Okay so there is no service and it is better to sit outside as it is rather dark and dismal inside and the staff could be on the more pleasant side and there is rather a strange smell wafting up from the drains. Despite all of the above it is a cheap deal and I can take my dog. Actually it seems to be quite a meeting place of people with dogs and I counted 6 beautifully behaved dogs — parents of young children take note — it is in the training! You know the usual ‘Sit’, ‘Stay’ and ‘No — and mean it’. Will I go again — have to as there is nowhere else!

I used to get my morning coffee every day here at one stage until I fell out with the staff ’cause they were so rude. They really were the pits. They would be in a foul mood at 8am and practically snarl at you if you dared to come in the minute they opened the door. Anyway, I sulked for a while and started going back again then for the simple reason that I really like Insomnia coffee. In other words, I just couldn’t stay away, despite the sometimes frosty reception! This particular branch is a little on the dark side but that’s only an issue in the summer months. I used to think Insomnia in general was a little expensive but the recession has seen it offer all sorts of deals now so it’s not so bad.
