The Shelbourne bar specializes in having friendly staff who will engage with you and make you feel at home. We offer table service and also offer a free Wifi service. We have a heated smoking area and in winter we have a real fire seven days a week.

we offer lunch from Mon — Fri and toasties at the week end.

Each evening you can order in a pizza from Four Star Pizza and receive a 50% discount while eating it in the bar. We have two big screens where we show all the important games.

History

Established in 1996.

The current owner (me) has been here since 1996. But there has been a bar on the site for at least two hundred years. When I bought it there were two small bars side by side so I took down the dividing wall and made one larger bar.

I put in an island bar like in Cheers and a real fire so to ensure it was a cozy comfortable pub. We are next door to the Everyman Theatre and so there is always a good buzz around the Shelbourne.

I strongly believe in running my business on old principles of looking after the customer, making eye contact and engaging in conversation with all our customers both regulars and tourists.
