Maybe it was the bike ride around Lough Eske that made the food here taste so delicious, but I don’t think so. I had summer greens soup and brown bread, while my husband enjoyed veggie quiche and salad. Everything was delicious and the service was both prompt and pleasant. The thing that we may be talking about all the way back home to the US, however, was the whiskey Raspberry granola cheesecake. Superb! Wish I could bring some home!

Very lovely people that work there. Friendly. I asked for a packed sandwich for take away. They didn’t have a menu, said«tell us what you want, and we’ll make it unless we don’t have the ingredients». Packed in less than 2 minutes. Now I have lunch for the slieve league the following day! When they heard I was going there, both took the time to recommend me where to go for parking and hiking. I even got 2 free scones for the day tomorrow. I felt bad, but left a small tip for such friendly service. Also free wifi there! Cost was great. My lemon ginger tea was fabulous tasting. Love the herbal selection! Highly recommend.

Small coffee/tea shop. Fresh baked goods. Had a special of the day: red pepper, mozzarella, spinach quiche. It was amazing. Only quirk is it is small and gets packed up quickly. Good for a quick bite to eat with some locals mixed in. Offers a take away service.

What a nice café! I was hitchhiking to Donegal, and the ladies who gave me a lift told me recommended Blueberry. I got a chicken sandwich, and it was really delicious. All of the other items on the menu looked tasty, it was hard to decide. Such a great little spot.

Crowded and cozy, but quick service and good food! Affordable prices make it a perfect family stop even if we did have to divide up between two tables.

This is a great place to eat! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there. I had salmon and eggs and it was delicious! The tea is really good as well as all of their pastries. If you are ever in Donegal, stop here and have a great meal. Then go see Donegal Castle!

This delightful café just off Donegal’s main square is a gem. It was absolutely packed with locals at lunchtime, and after eating there I understand why. We had two different ½ club sandwiches which were delicious with very fresh ingredients. One half a sandwich each was plenty for my wife and me. The service was spot on and attentive. A huge portion of delicious chocolate pecan cheesecake topped off a wonderful meal. Owner Brian circulated from table to table, chatting affably but letting no detail escape his watchful eye. I would go back again and again if I could.

Very nice place with quick service. We had the chicken wrap. Tasty but chicken itself was really dry. Was sorry i didn’t get the club sandwich.

We discovered this lovely café on Unilocal and I have to say we had such a great experience! The owner welcomed us with a warm Irish smile and we immediately felt like family! It has a great atmosphere and it’s always packed, which adds to the energy of this wonderful restaurant! I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Donegal!

I think the Blueberry is one of the best places for lunch in the town. It’s not the cheapest but they seem to concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I think they’re soup and ½ sandwich that comes with chips(that fries for all your Yanks reading) is a good bargain. The soup is freshly made that day on site(not prepackaged) and the ½ sandwich is a decent club sandwich and the chips satisfy my urge to get fried food! They’re pies and deserts are pretty good too. To bad they’re not open later in the evening for dinner.

I must admit, I was disappointed with the food offerings at 10.30 am on a Saturday morning in Donegal. That is, until I stumbled upon this cracker off The Diamond, just near the castle. The food’s not classy, but it’s hearty and cheap. The breakfast rolls with bacon, eggs, sausage and the like are fantastic. The coffee was unburnt and tasty. The service was friendly, and the whole place has a woody, homey atmosphere. Take a piece of cake to go from the display cabinet at the front. You won’t be disappointed.

This café is best known for food which contains blueberries(hence the name!). Recommended is the blueberry crêpe(pancake) although I thought it was a bit pricey. It’s bang in the centre of the town near to the Castle so go early as it gets very busy ’cause all the tourists are told about this place by their tour guides.
