Just completed Marketing, PR course and awaiting Diploma-​shocked myself by getting a Distinction. Being honest I’d been so nervous about going ‘back to school/​college’ after few years. mostly was worried about being bored etc. Luckily id nothin to worry bout… great time of lecturers, lovely class-​mates (which is crucial I think!) great didnt have to buy any books and that. can really add up! seems have made a difference, as had been applying for jobs for AGES and now with diploma under my belt im actually getting interviews. fingers crossed! thanks cmi for getting me on the righnt path and restoring my determination to pursue a career I really want!

The communications & management institute of Ireland offers flexible part-​time courses in a variety of subjects, ranging from PR to criminology, event management, journalism and media, to HR, accounting as well as business & psychology. The courses are held in the ‘Centre for English Studies’ building, across from the Stag’s Head pub in Dame Court (or beside Shebeen Chic). You’re taught by people who are currently in the field of choice — my jounalism & media course was taught by a subeditor, a broadcaster (anchor), a solicitor (media law), and a feature writer — so it’s very authentic, and you’re getting great contacts out of it. Also, I have to add that the people who work at CMI are patient and helpful for any problems you might have. For example, when I stupidly mixed up my exam dates and completely missed one, I was in a panic (as you can imagine!) but they calmly arranged a special sitting date for me, which they really didn’t have to do! I’ll be double checking time tables for any future exams. silly me. I’d recommend a look at the site if you’re interested in anything to do with business/​management, communication, or sales!
