It’s now an Italian restaurant called Forno: Have yet to try it…

Brownie-lovers of Dublin: I believe we have found our future headquarters. These must be the biggest I’ve ever seen sold in an establishment and, more importantly, they have the all-important key qualities of any self-respecting brownie: moist and supremely decadent. Unfortunately the slow service meant that we had already downed our coffee(which we waited 15mins for) by the time the monstrous brownie arrived 10mins later… A little bit unfortunate, but sure lookit.

I enjoyed eating brunch here — the shop is so lovely and bright and filled with things to look at. I got the cinnamon french toast and it was VERY cinnamon-y(but that’s the way I like it). I would say it’s a bit on the dry side and could have been a tad moister. But at the end of it all, we all enjoyed our meal and our very lovely server.

Good and busy and fast and coffee — everything a proper hang-over Sunday morning breakfast should be… ish. We dined(well, threw food at our faces) and enjoyed, but both my wife and myself were of the opinion that the food was not stand-out, indeed if copious amounts of alcohol had not been imbibed the night before, I think we would have been overall not impressed at all. it probably warrants a second go, but it aint cheap and there are more new and interesting places to try so it might be a while before that happens.

When this café opened my husband and I thought it was great — quick service, generous potions and great quality food. Unfortunately it has really declined over the last few months. When we went for brunch today the service was woeful — we waited ages for a menu and even longer again for someone to take our order. We asked for two orange juices that were the smallest we have ever seen — just a version up from a shot glass and frankly they should be embarrassed charging people for a thimble of orange juice. The food portions were much smaller and things that were once delicious like scrambled eggs are now just blah. There are much better areas for breakfast in the area so until this place improves we won’t be back.

J and I were on our way back from the gym on Saturday when I was tasked with the decision of finding a lunch spot on the way that would accept us in our post workout condition(i.e. we would not gross people out in our sweaty workout clothes). I had saved Baker’s recently and didn’t know much about it but based on the menu thought it might be casual enough to let us in. We rode over and were happy to see a table open outside. J ordered the chicken sandwich with the quinoa salad, asian noodle salad and an Americano and I went with the pulled pork ciabatta with the triple rice salad, two bean salad and the house brewed iced apple and vanilla tea. Our drinks came out pretty quickly. J’s Americano was huge and my tea was so delicious. Not too sweet and there was just a hint of vanilla. As we waited we saw several breakfast dishes come out which looked amazing — we will have to come back again for brunch. Our food arrived and had some generous portions for the price. J’s sandwich was okay(kind of bland with just chicken, mayo and leaves) but his salads were really nice. My pork on the other hand was delicious. Great seasoning, a little bbq sauce and topped with a house slaw. Nothing bland about it — I devoured it in no time. My salads were also really nice — good flavours and well seasoned. Given how good my food was(and how cheap our bill ended up) I will happily come back soon.

I was always bemused by the fake farmyard animals on the green in front this café but a pleasant symbiosis has occurred between the plastic pigs and opening of Bakers behind. Its a lovely space, big and airy, with some outdoor seating. Good lunch menu with a Great selection of daily salads. I got the reg size plate with 3 salads for € 7.50. They were all pretty tasty. Lots of delicious looking baked goods on display too :) Oddly enough it’s a place I would take my granny to. Very easy access, no loud music and lots of space for cosy conversations over carrot cake.

Lovely spot, still finding its feet. Really bright and airy, also deceivingly big inside. Great to see it busy already! Staff are all really pleasant. The pulled pork sandwich was nice, served with a choice of two salads; also a plus.
