I loooove Benetton, cannot leave the shop without making a purchase. The girls are so friendly as well, a detail that makes the shopping sprees all the more enjoyable. The quality and sizing is great and their winter collection is stunning.

Break up monochrome monotony with the United Colors of Benetton! This chain’s flagship store in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre houses a lively kaleidoscope of colours and shapes. United Colors of Benetton has an international style that combines color, quality and fashion. Each season the womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and underwear collections offer a total look for everyday, for work and for leisure, in the city and outdoors. You can pick up everything from cashmere to beach towels, shorts, hats, shoes, trousers and even perfume all adorning one of the trademark valiant, established bold colours, those being; blue, red, orange, pink, green or yellow. All of their garments or accessories feature one of these characteristic intrepid colours. It is U.C.O.B’s disinclination to ever mix the colours within the same piece of clothing or gear that makes it so identifiable. United Colours of Benetton affords the shopper a composed setting in which to look for and most probably find clothes that suit their shape and personal style best. As well as presenting clothes you would deem as innovatory, what makes Benetton so great is that they are prevailing without losing touch with authentic, popular classics and for this reason numerous rails of reliable pairs of jeans feature in this store beside compartments featuring hide-all pairs of shades.

If you’re looking for a colourful, chunky knit jumper, some plain polo necks, or woolly hats, scarves or gloves, then head along to the United Colors of Benetton. The store stocks a basic range of styles in various different colours, with the emphasis on quality rather than innovation or fashion per se. The Sicily range to the back of the shop is a shade more exciting, with more of a designer-y edge, though still a bit on the conservative side of blah. The clothes for kids are very cute, but I’d favour shopping in Dunnes for little ones that will grow out of that designer jumper in 3 months anyway.

I remember shopping at a Benetton outlet store when I was a kid and so wanting to buy things there. Not because I loved the clothes, but because I thought Benetton was glamorous. I do not know how or why I ever got this idea, but Benetton never has been, and never will be a thrilling place to shop. Even when I was a kid I found most items, well, boring. Sure things are colorful, but absolutely nothing is inspired. It’s like the Gap; I sometimes wander in and have a look around, but soon hurry out, dismayed by all the sameness. The clothes are just plain uneventful. The only reason I can see how it might be a good place to shop is if you’re looking for something basic, but still the prices are a bit on the high side for a pair of black trousers for example. And P. S. — no child needs cashmere ANYTHING. Not a sweater. Not a scarf. Nada.

Hands up all the 80s-babies! If you were, like me, treated to jumpers from the United Colours of Benetton when you were little, then Benetton will always have a special place in your heart(along with Ton Sur Ton, Naf Naf etc). I do like to have a little wander through and to see if there’s anything nice. For a country over run with black, grey, brown and maybe even navy clothes, it’s nice to see some colourful jumpers every now and then. Even better yet, there’s a sale on. It’s expensive normally, but now I’ll consider picking up something for a bargain deal. They do have pretty stuff and their kids stuff is cute too. I walked out of the shop with a nice top for € 15, still not super cheap, but for old time’s sake…
