Butlers Chocolate Café

This is a tiny Butler’s with only bench style seating for about 4 people, but they have everything Butler’s has: great coffee, tea, hot chocolate, frappes, iced drinks etc. as well as a great selection of chocolates where you get one free with every drink! I’d say this Butler’s seems more like a grab and go kind of branch, but there is limited seats available. The staff were very friendly here, and the Butler’s White Americanos and Flat whites are my favourites! You can also get your drink made with soya, almond, non-​fat, low-​fat or whole milk which is quite a selection compared to most places. For any chocolate fans out there, there’s no shop better than Butler’s for the best selection!

Out of all the Butler’s in town, this one is my favourite. The staff is really friendly and quick to serve. The coffee itself is not the best coffee that can be had but it is good and with a free chocolate on the side you really have nothing to complain about. Hmmm… free chocolate!

We got the 4 euro Dark Hot Chocolate… soooooooo good!
Then again, if you’re American like me, you may not want to order this because you will never have hot chocolate this good anywhere in America.
(I also ordered a piece of chocolate cake, but the Hot Chocolate put it to shame)

I’m here religiously every morning and they know my coffee which is a lovely bonus. The Manager Ruta is a gem. She’s friendly but professional and super-​fast. Brilliant all round.

A decent coffee for an Ok price with a free chocolate. I like free chocolate, the calories don’t count! Well.. so I was told anyway
They have nata’s which I am dying to try. (Portuguese custard tart) So I’ll have to report back once I have done so!

Butlers hot chocolate with marshmallows. It’s as good as it gets.
Far and wide I have sampled many a hot chocolate but there is always something lacking, not here! You will find a wide variation of chocolates here. I always love the smell going in the door, It really entices you in!
I always get hot chocolate with marshmallows, just delicious! I like the feel of their cardboard cups too, they have a soft velvet like feel to them, thick layer so that you don’t burn yourself.
Every time you buy a hot chocolate they give you a free chocolate sweet beautifully wrapped in white and gold. Always a delight to demolish while waiting for your hot chocolate! If you buy a coffee or tea, you can choose what free chocolate you want but with hot chocolate drink, it is always the same chocolate sweet they give you. You pay alot more for hot chocolate so it would be nice to be given a choice of sweet, but I wont complain, free chocolate is free chocolate!
They have a loyalty card too, so it’s nice to know all your purchases will lead up to a free drink :)
Yes it’s pricey but always worth it! A great treat :)

I always love a café specializing in chocolate. I had a hot chocolate and it came with a little piece of chocolate too. Nice and rich. There is a great variety of chocolate flavors. And I also bought a box of hot chocolate drink melts to take home (tried them today, not very rich but still good and better than powder mixes). Butlers is very popular. Good for a date or to catch up with a friend or to warm up on a cold Dublin night. There are many branches around Dublin, so you’ll probably find one if you walk a ways in any direction.

Butler’s has great chocolates and coffee drinks. It actually has the best mocha that I’ve ever had; it was very rich in chocolate, and not shy in flavor. I didn’t get to try as much as I wanted to, but most of the cakes and drinks looked delicious. One drawback is the lack of seating. It can get pretty busy, even during slow hours, so finding a good spot to enjoy those treats can often be tough.
