The most important criteria for a crêpe place is, well, good crepes. Unfortunately, Café Crêpe misses the mark. Crepes are dull and bland with mediocre coffee to go with it. The atmosphere is fine, although it’s easy to find lots of similar or better places nearby.

Café Crêpe is a really nice place when you’re looking for a quick snack in town. The outdoor seats are perfect on a nice day because you can sit and relax and watch the world go by. They make a pretty decent cup of coffee as well, and their crepes are second only to the ones you get at the temple bar food market in my opinion. The staff are very friendly and efficient and I’ve never had to wait for long to get my coffee. It tends to get very busy at lunchtime though because it is right in the middle of everything so mid-morning or afternoon are better times for a little treat here.

I can’t wait for summer. Once the weather gets warm there’s no doubt in my mind that Café Crêpe will come fully into its own. Outdoor seating, light and well-filled crepes(mmm, sugar and lemon forever) plus a biting espresso(they even remember your glass of water… sometimes) will be perfect as a mid-morning treat, especially as Leinster St faces NE and catches all that tasty sun. As for colder days when the weather is grotty Café Crêpe’s warmly lit indoor offering makes a cozy and close post-museum stop.

A good place for a relaxed lunch. They do particularly nice bagels, paninis and crepes, and all for a fairly decent price. 6 or 7 euro will get you a bagel or panini served with a decent salad and a few crisps thrown in. The menu is extensive enough with food for most tastes. The café itself is one of those small café’s with limited seating inside, which is fine for lunch with 1 or 2 people, but not for a group any bigger. Outside they have a small seating area which is a nice place to eat because it avoids the slightly claustrophobic feeling inside. Unusually for this type of café they do have table service which makes it easier to chill over your lunch. Definitely a nice place in summer for a chilled out chatty lunch with a friend or two.

Decided to give this place a try today after passing it many times over the years. It’s down on the way to the national gallery, pretty much an extension of Nassau street. Had a really tasty crêpe, did the name given it away? For € 6 I got a nice sized crème a huge salad with it and some crisps, well they can’t do everything right I suppose. I didn’t eat in the place but it seemed to have a nice atmosphere and did have French staff, or at least staff with French accents.
