This is not esthetically the best thrift shop I have seen but this is a true place for hidden gems. It does not look of much but as soon as you take your time you will find amazing things here. I have a several occasions found clothing that was brand new where the tag was still on and best of all if you are into things (bare in mind this does not include clothing) that are truly vintage and kitsch do not miss out.
I know that most people go to thrift stores for clothing but I can not help looking for different pattern plates or a 50’s vase. If I knew I was staying in Ireland for good, I would have spent more money here than I would like to think off and mainly because of the many vintage and kitsch things they have hidden away on their shelf’s.

Here’s where I become a little less charitable. Or maybe I’m just spoiled?
After the rich pickings in charity shops like Barnardos and Enable Ireland, the slim selection in CASA’s rattling Capel St shop seemed almost… unfair.
Am I allowed to say that?
While I concede that charity shopping is a sport and no stock is the same, I was still quite disappointed with the sparsely stocked shelves. What was available looked, mmm, used. And of course all the really good stuff is in the window, and if you want a crack at it be sure to show up first thing on the Friday it’s put into rotation…
Ah, can’t win ‘em all. I’ll still pick up a book or two for a later swap. Heck, it’s charity after all.

It doesn’t look much from the outside, but I urge you to go in and have a root around. It is off the beaten track, so many of its gems go undiscovered.
On a recent foray, I found a new top (tag still attached from A-​wear) for € 8 and the type of cardigan that I have been looking for for ages. Good deal. Oh, and it’s for charity, so you should buy as much as you like, guilt free.
