Cassidy’s Hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner. The staff were very helpful and even checked us into a room at 9am, which was great.
The room was a good size, but could do with a face lift. Only negative was the bathroom light fitting, which fell off during our first night.
Breakfast was a buffet and had plenty of choice. Would stay again if I come back!

The location is great, the staff were polite and helpful, everywhere was clean, it’s what you want for a short stay in Dublin. Would go back again!

Great location! Got the job done… Just a basic room with a basic bathroom the stay was okay I really don’t have any complaints since I am out of my room 90 percent of the time… The bed is a little small
The only reason I did not give this place a 4 star is because the breakfast was a huge rip off and it tasted like crap I wasted 20 euros on some nasty watery orange eggs and a glass of orange juice… I felt like j was eating powdered eggs military style but worst., never eat here… Horrible!!!
The bar was ok not too expensive but okay they have my favorite beer on tap so I was happy…,.

Not sure where all the good reviews for this place came from, but here’s a realistic/​satiric point of view:
The only good thing about Cassidy’s is its location. Whether you’re a walker, taxi rider, or public transport fiend, all your traveling needs are sure to be met. Everything is close by. But, there are plenty of other places with an even better location.
I must say that the view from my ground-​level floor was quite fantastic. I opened the window shades with what looked to be a tattered shoe string to a beautifully littered grounds with empty beer cans, liquor bottles, cigarette packs, and used, crap-​stained toilet paper. I stayed for 3 days and the toilet paper remained there, rain and all.
The bedding was perfect. I didn’t have to inspect it for anything because the long hairs and pubic strands of previous guests were simply on top of the linens. There was also no need for a bedbug search because the linens made me itchy enough.
I also didn’t need a wake up call as my room was next to the luggage storage and maintenance closet. The morning staff was well trained in the art of wall banging and door slamming. Also, the plumbing in my bathroom tended to gurgle and leak whenever other guests used their showers. Imagine the house Tyler Durden occupied in the movie/​book Fight Club. All of the bathroom noises, of course, happened early enough in the morning to wake me before the staff began bombarding the hallways, yelling about whatever it was that needed to be done at the moment.
I could go on and on about this experience from the unhappy, afternoon bar staff who eagerly hated to take my beer order to the toilet handle that stuck out of the wall and gleamed in the flickering, fluorescent blue/​green lights.
If you want to watch the television here, make sure not to turn it on via the power button on the remote or console. You’ll need to hit the «radio» button. That tip will be invaluable to you.
Seriously, though. The place was a pigsty. Don’t go. They don’t represent the goodness of Dublin, and you just don’t deserve to have your trip tainted by a weird, itchy, scratchy, noisy, smelly, stale hotel who is simply riding the coat tails of a bygone reputation.
Think about it. If they don’t bother to pick up shitty, used toilet paper next to your window then the kitchen probably isn’t so clean either. Housekeeping just didn’t seem to be a priority around that place.
However, if you’re looking for an adventure then go right on in.

Perfect location for exploring Dublin!

Hotel agreable, chambre propre et bien equipee. Quelque peu bruillante. Deco aseptisé et impersonnelle.
Le gros plus: sa localisation en ultra centre, et sur la route de l aeroport.

Zentralgelegenes Hotel mit freundlichem Personal und gutem Restaurant.
Sehr gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis für ein Hauptstadthotel in dieser Buchungsklasse.
Im Hotel befindet sich ein Pub mit Restaurant, für Dubliner Verhältnisse
preiswert und gut.
Das Personal an der Rezeption ist hilfsbereit,
das Frühstücksbüffet üppig ! Sehr empfehlenswert !

Went on the recommendation of a friend who recently visited. Since I had no idea of the layout of Dublin and it was a good price (I think 70 euro a night?) we gave it a try. Extremely comfortable bed, large room size for a European hotel. Probably the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever come across on either side of the pond. Although it was a bit out of the way (too far up O’Connell street, I would have proffered to be closer to the bridges) it was a nice, safe and clean hotel.

Not fancy by any means, but the room was adequate and the location was good. We could easily walk down O’Connell Street and be at the Temple Bar area in 5 minutes. The airlink bus also drops off/​picks up very close to the hotel, so there was no need for a taxi to/​from the airport.
The room was a bit on the small side, but hey, I don’t go on vacation to Europe to spend time in my hotel room. We had a double bed and a twin bed and a tub in the bath. It would have been nice to have a hair dryer, or at least an electrical outlet in the bathroom (the only outlet said shavers only). Thankfully we brought one, but had to move the large console to get to the outlet behind it. Also, the mechanism to get the shower to work was tricky. We never did get it to go to full water pressure. The water started cold, but if you moved it anywhere above 20 degrees, it was scalding.
We booked with breakfast included and the buffet had a number of options. I enjoyed the ham, cheese, and rolls. The scrambled eggs were too runny for my taste. They also had brewed breakfast tea, rather than tea bags, so that was a plus.
They also have free wifi. They did not offer this when we checked in, but when I inquired they did give me the code.
Cassidy’s is fine, and for the price and location I’d probably stay there again.

Nice pleasant staff, half decent rooms in a nice central location. Ideal for a weekend in the city. The car park at the rear is handy, but does cost € 12 a night.

This place is a GREAT value — easy walking distance to the Quay and Temple Bar, rooms are nicely furnished, breakfast is delicious, staff is helpful, and it’s cheaper than most alternatives. I’d definitely stay here again. The taxi ride in from the airport in the evening can be excruciatingly long, so be forewarned and have plenty of Euros in your pocket.

Wanna hob knob with the actor set? Well this is one of their haunts. Cassidys Hotel is located opposite the Gate Theatre, so it gets some of the Gate crowd for post play drinks.
It is quite plush inside, and it’s a hotel so the drinks won’t be cheap. It has a good location and as a result you can walk to anywhere in central Dublin from it.

Nach einer unfreiwilligen Nacht auf der Straße von Dublin und bei der GARDIA auf dem Revier ;) habe ich ein Hotel gesucht, dass mich aufnimmt und in dem ich nur noch schlafen kann. So kam ich also ungewaschen und zerwuselt in das Hotel und wurde behandelt als wenn ich einen Anzug tragen würde. Die Damen und HErren im Hotel waren durchweg nett nd zuvorkommend, so wie man es sich als Gast wünscht.
Das Einzelzimmer war für 87,50 EUR die Nacht zu haben und stellte sich als 3 Bett Zimmer heraus mit feudalem Doppel und einem Einzelbett. Ein TFT Fernseher und der kleine Wasserkocher mit Intantkaffee und Tee, sowie Milch und Zucker haben mich wieder auf Vordermann gebracht. Das ganze Zimmer einschließlich des Bades war sauber und täglich frisch gemacht!
Das interkontinentale Frühstück war jedoch das was mich endgültig von Cassidy’s überzeugt hat. Morgens in den Frühstücksbereich zu gehen, dort auf seinen Platz gebracht zu werden, eine Kanne Tee oder Kaffee an den Tisch zu bekommen und ein sehr sehr üppiges Frühstücksbuffet serviert zu bekommen war unbeschreiblich.
Cassidy’s gehört für mich bei jedwedem Besuch Dublins wieder auf den Plan.
