Best macaroons in Dublin. Great chocolates too.
For macaroons, I got salted caramel, chocolate, vanilla, orange confit, pear, coconut. All were really good — the pear and orange were my least-​favorite because they were really fruity, but that’s to be expected of those flavors.

CHOCOLATES! CHOCOLATES! CHOCOLATES! CHOCOLATES! CHOCOLATES!
If you love chocolate, check out this gem in the heart of the city. They have so many flavour combinations, each as fantastic as the next. They have little chocolates, bars of chocolate, ice cream tubs and macaroons to choose from.
They also have coffee available here so what more could you want, a good cup of coffee with a luxurious chocolate to sweet your tooth!
I also used this place for chocolates for my wedding, they were so friendly and despite my late order they accommodated me without a fuss.

This place is cute! Came in and got 4 macarons for about 7 euros, not bad. I got a pear, raspeberry, lemon and ginger bread flavored macarons and they were all amazing! I love the packaging, i felt like I spent good money at a high end fashion store or MAC but nope just at a cute little bakery.
It is hard to find though… I went looking for a good hour but it was worth it. Definitely will come here again

This is such a lovely little shop, it feels like you’re in the middle of Paris when you step inside. I had to text my friend to find out if his girlfriend would like what I was intending to get her, which I should have done before entering– I think the girl inside was getting suspicious that I was going to nick something because I was standing there for so long!
I ended up buying more than I had intended because it all looked so incredible. It’s only afterwards when you realise you’ve spent 20 euro on chocolate that you have a bit of a d’oh! moment.
Still it’s presented so well, and it makes a lovely gift, especially just as a token for someone that you maybe don’t know too well and don’t want to get something more personal, in case you’re wrong.
I would love to look at the other things in the shop, but this time I just went for the chocolates.

Stopped in with a friend and we both got four chocolates. Like the classy people we are, we walked outside, and promptly snarfed down all eight. Had we been thinking strategically, we would have purchased a box of nine for the same price and fought over the extra!

I love the Macarons here in Cocoa Atelier. Its my guilty pleasure. I tend to buy a box of four– its not cheap at € 7 but they are so tasty. My favourite is the Salted Caramel as well as the Passionfruit and the Coffee ones. I did try the salted Caramel square– a pastry they sell and I didnt like this so much. The Caramel didnt taste salted and the pastry case was soft. Stck to the macarons and you will be very happy!

This is truly a taste of Paris in Dublin. This very chic store has a sublime selection of macaroons and chocolates on display, all beautifully presented, and if you are buying them as a gift they have a selection of lovely presentation boxes, starting with a dinky little box for two (to share with your sweetheart, or yourself!). I was never wild about macaroons, even trying them in Paris, until I sampled Cocoa Atelier’s offerings! They’re quite large too, about the size of a Jacob’s Kimberly.
I’m particularly enamoured with their rich hot chocolate, it is hot chocolate as I remember it in Italy, with the consistency of rich, melted chocolate. I have yet to try their ice cream, but their chocolate eclairs are a decadent delight! We got ours to takeaway, and enjoyed them with a coffee on the steps of the nearby Powerscourt Townhouse.

This place is a chocoholics worst nightmare. You could easily go crazy. The chocolates taste amazing. Their macaroons taste great too. Girl serving was very friendly. I love their light that is made of whisks. You need to come here… honestly, you do

The macaroons here are just amazing!
The selection here is awesome and I found it difficult to pick four.
I had to try the chocolate but the blackcurrant macaroon was soooo good!
They’re expensive enough but really nice for a special treat.
Also I find that’s is worth visiting here just to see what their window display is like :)

I read a review for a French foodie that Cocoa Atelier has the best hot chocolate for this time of the year and I went to try it. I had a small one and I also got 3 types of macaroon: pistachio, passion fruit and ginger bread. The hot cocoa was delicious, an actual chocolate (not cocoa powder or a syrup). The macaroons were amazing, maybe the best macaroon in Dublin, Especially, after trying different macaroons from different places in Dublin I highly suggest it. I thought that Laduree here makes the best macaroons but i was definitely wrong. In a scale of 10 i will give Laduree ⁵⁄₁₀ (a bit dry) and cocoa Atelier ⁹⁄₁₀ for their soft and great taste and also for the great selection they offer.

This place is nice! Really nice, actually. Apart from French macarons and chocolate pralines in all sorts of flavours they also do ice cream and sorbets in the most amazing-​sounding flavours. I haven’t tried them yet (it’s a wee bit cold for me) but they are definitely on the list. For now I’ll stick to the French classic. It might be pricey at 1.70Euro for one macaron but they do have a special: buy any coffee and any macaron for 3Euro. Now they just need to learn how to use their Nespresso machine …

Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes. Mmmm, yes. This is top notch chocolate. I had a chestnut honey and a chocolate ginger, and… YES. The honey one tasted of dark, deep honey and the ginger one tasted of fresh ginger. Really and truly. No foolin’.
In a world of cheap chocolate (please read that in a suitably cinematic voice-​over tone), Cocoa Atelier is the real deal. Don’t get me wrong, I love me Cadbury’s, and tolerate the odd Butler’s or Lily O’Brien’s (always less exciting than their appearance and price promise, I think) but one from Cocoa Atelier does the job of several chocolates from other brands. It is so lovely that they are getting such unanimous approval from the Unilocal!community, it is well deserved. Five stars, douze points, a perfect 10.

The macaroons. whow! Only tasted a few flavours but my favourite was the lemon which tasted just like lemon meringue pie. Soft and fresh with the right amount of crunch. The white truffle with praline filling and baileys chocolates were my faves too. Excellent presentation for a yummy gift for someone you love, which includes yourself will be popping in again soon.

Holy Jesus do I love macarons.
At 1.70 each, there is a very sweet mark up to be made on these French delights and at said price I unfortunately cannot allow myself to go as often as I would like, which would probably be about five to ten times a day.
To combat my mild obsession I often reduce myself to the ‘three for 2.50′ in insomnia, but when I come here for a treat, I realise that a fresh macaron is worth all the money they ask for and more.
This review makes me seem a little crazy I’m aware, but go in and buy just one and you will see what I mean. Pistachio and coconut should be your top priorities in my opinion.

AMAZING macarons! My mouth was in heaven. In London my downfall is Ladurée macarons. A friend recommended Cocoa Atelier and we were delighted to find such fantastic macarons, honest comparable if not better than Ladurée!
The staff was super friendly and walked us through all of the different flavors, making recommendations and suggestions.

I recently moved to Dublin so have been on a mission to find «bests» in several of my favorite items such as pad Thai, tacos, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc. Like many people I have been on a French macaron kick lately. Laduree is a pretty obvious choice and their satellite location in Brown Thomas sells some great treats if you get them near a shipment day. I happened upon Cocoa Atelier after seeing some reviews on Unilocal.I didn’t expect to be blown away but their Macarons were unbelievable. The standouts for me were the lemon and the coconut but I imagine the others are equally wonderful. I’m excited to try the chocolate éclair at my next visit — which might be today!

This place really does sell the most amazing confectionery. I’m not a massive sweet person to be honest and I certainly wouldn’t normally pay 1.50 euro for a sweet. But the macaroons from here have to be tasted to be believed. I honestly don’t think I have ever tasted anything as delicious in my life.
The shop itself is the perfect size for selling small amounts of highly expensive chocolate and other goody’s. Its also nicely laid out.
At Easter they do special eggs and chocolate chickens which look amazing but are 15 – 20 euro.
I wish it could be cheaper but I guess for the most amazing food you pay the most amazing prices so, its got to be five stars.
Do yourself a favour and buy some macaroons you will be amazed.

It was a rainy day in Dublin and I was just dipping in and out of stores to avoid getting drenched when I stumbled upon this little treasure!
The shop is not very large, but all of the chocolates are clearly on display! They have some interesting flavors… like Earl Grey, Salted Caramel, Chestnut Honey and then some of the normal ones like Coffee, Pistachio, Dentelle. Then they have these new Caramel Spheres. The outer shell is dark chocolate with flavored liquid caramel inside. I believe they come in Salted Caramel, Blackcurrant, Mango, and Whisky. They also have Macarons. My favourites so far: Earl Grey (it is not super strong, but a nice flavor to the dark chocolate) and the Mango Caramel Sphere (I don’t usually like Mango, but this was very nice, peachy almost).
I chose the box of 16 chocolates and chose a couple, but then left it to the lady behind the counter to fill the rest. She suggested some and was very good a describing them. The boxes are nice a small so if you need to pack them for your travels, they fit. And the prices are fairly reasonable.

We stumbled across this place on Good Friday and decided to pop in for a nosey… if we can’t buy alcohol, we’ll buy chocolate damn it!
We left with an assortment of four macaroons. Which set us back 6 EUR… that’s 1.50 for an item that was no bigger than a Kimberly biscuit. But each was a little bit of heaven. The caramel one was particularly divine, the other three were not too shabby either.
I returned last Thursday to buy some more macaroons as a present. This time I got a box of eight, which cost 12 EUR (eek!).
It was on this visit I took in more of the shop, as the last time we were a little giddy watching our macaroons being packed to take in anything about the place. It’s immaculate… spotless. However the sales assistant was pottering about tidying the place anyway. Tidying what I’m not sure. After about half a minute she asks if she can help me… Have you not seen me drooling over the macaroons, I feel like asking… but I politely reply yes.
So wearing a white glove (a la snooker referee style) she starts placing the little pieces of heaven delicately into the macaroon box. When finished she shows me the box to see if I am happy with how they have been arranged! I nod silently and with the reverence the occasion deserves.
The goods here are pricey, but its clear the standard of product is extremely high. I would also think Cocoa Atelier would make for excellent present buying goodies.
I will definitely be back to sample the chocolate.
