Altho good food and clean and tidy the volume of the music was stupidly deafening i mean the band are brilliant but like screaming into sumones ear just to hear them like is stupid. The muic playing on dukebox was fine but this was a joke no place shud be that loud ever

Empire has been open a while now in Swords and while I’ve been here a few times for drinks and the odd birthday bash, I hadn’t gotten around to tasting any of the foodfare on offer until today.
First thing that hit mevsas the prices. I mean, everything is expensive on the menu, across the board. Like Celtic Ireland prices man!
I went for the Chicken Supreme as I hadn’t had it in ages plus the sweet potato and Cajun jus got me interested. The portion was pretty massive and the food was decent. Was disappointed with the sweet potato though, pretty bland tbh. So overall, it’s okay but not worth the dosh doled out for me.

Had a very quick bite to eat here on Saturday evening with a friend. Have been here a couple of times for drinks and really liked the place — there’s usually a mixed crowd, veering towards the over 25’s with good live music and a space downstairs for dancing, along with a large, comfortable smoking area with plenty of seating. It’s definitely one of the better places to go in Swords village for drinks at the weekend. (If this review was based on the venue as a bar rather than the food it would be a strong 4 rather than the 3 I’ve given)
I went for the Tandoori chicken salad with mango and pomegranate — it was tasty but was lacking the yoghurt dressing that was supposed to come with it. The chicken was a little on the dry side and it definitely needed a more substantial dressing, so I was a little disappointed with it overall. I would try the food here again, but I wouldn’t be running back. It’s far better as a late venue for drinks rather than an option for eating out methinks!

Had an impromptu early dinner with my friend this evening in empire. I got the starter goats cheese salad and sweet potato fries. Both really tasty and good portions. Ok value not great. Service was average. My friend got a dip in the side and was charged a Euro for it as her salad was a bit dry. Good for a quick bite to eat if local. Will visit back again

I have eaten here twice, the € 10.00 steak is good. The cod and chips expensive and small would not be buying again.
The staff are fantastic and the service was good.

I recently held my 30^th birthday here, I was allowed bring in my own cake, and balloons. I ordered two platters and when everyone had arrived they have us a glass of bubbly each with a strawberry. Everything from the food, service and the little details to putting a huge candle on the cake for me was fantastic. I can’t flaw this place at all.
I had lunch here too today, as I wanted to come back and sample the menu. The standard of food is super high, again, the service was impeccable and the manager even remembered me from the last time.
This will be my new haunt, love love love it! Well done guys!

Tried here today with himself! It was a first for both and we were so so impressed! The décor is fab and so chilled! Books all over the walls and really chilled out music!
Staff were friendly and polite which is always a bonus!
The food was so so tasty I had the 9.95 steak special which came with pepper sauce, crispy onion rings and the smoothest mash! It was delish! Himself had the Gammon steak with eggs, chips and a pineapple chutney! Lets just say he left nothing on the plate so I’m guessing he enjoyed it!
It is very reasonable priced for a very snazzy spot! I’ll definitely be back!

I can’t believe I am the first to review yet another prime cocktail bar in Dublin. Empire is the newest, venue in the north of County Dublin. By day, it’s a definite ‘we’ll do lunch’ place to meet serving a very satisfying lunch menu (along with Illy coffee, I should note.) Dinner time comes around with a great deal on sirloin steaks at € 9.95 (not bad either). Then into the evening when the lights go down, the band and/​or dj will come into play and transform the place again! Cocktails aren’t complicated but very VERY good. Recommendations are the Whisky Sour if you like your drinks made the classic way or if you want to spoil yourself, ask for a split Daiquiri (strawberry daiquiri on the bottom and passion fruit daiquiri on top is one example).
They pride themselves on fast, efficient, top — class service and they’re doing it very well….
