Food was really good. Loved the beef and Guinness pie and the man who served it sung us a lovely song about hap-penis

I had a great stay at the Ferryman! I was at a conference at Bord Gais, so it was. Quick 5 minute walk! Breakfast was much bigger than I expected-eggs, bacon, bread, cereal, juice, coffee, beans… Truly enjoyed my time. It’s an old place and has a lot of charm, just know it’s above a pub so may be a bit loud on weekends.

The Ferryman is a great spot for drinks. It was very busy for a Wednesday evening but there was football on. Only one staff behind the bar and she was flat out busy. I was very surprised to pay € 7 for a glass of house red wine in a pub. The Ferryman is a comfortable pub and nice spot to catch up with friends for a drink or two but that’s it.

This is a nice spot to get a pint in the area and personally one of my favourites since I work just around the corner. It’s hard not to run into my co-workers since it’s so close to the where a lot of companies are located. They have some interesting beers in addition to the standard pub selection you’ll find in Dublin. When it’s summer, I love standing outdoors with a some people engaging in friendly banter and enjoying the view of Samuel Beckett Bridge. I also tried my first Baby Guinness here and absolutely loved it!

Do I really need to describe this place? Same look and feel of most other Irish pubs in the city. Same selection of beer. The only real difference is it is usually full of Facebook and Google employees forcing the rest of us to deal with the smell of dev-sweat and self-importance.

On the rare occasions in which the sun decides to pop out, this drinkery must be your first port of call out that end of the city. Like all of the best places, you’re essentially enjoying your choice of beverage standing on the street — overlooking the Liffey, boats and conference centre. The clientele are mostly staff from the surrounding companies, therefore the after-work stint is when The Ferryman is the most lively. The bar staff are full of banter and they have a nice range of beers on tap. Inside is a bit basic, full of wood and very dim — so if it rains, just bring a brolly and enjoy the outside view.

Lovely welcoming and cosy pub with not too overly expensive beer.

It’s a good little pub that is good for drinks after work. It can be crowded from 5:30−7, but after that isn’t too bad. If you work in the area, you should definitely check it out.

This is a great pub in an area that does have other great places to drink, but no great classic pubs like this one. The staff are great but the prices are a bit dear. That being said it doesn’t seem to bother many people because they are packed pretty much every night of the week. Get there early as it gets very full as soon as that clock strikes six.

This is a really fantastic pub away from the usual tourist routes. Has a real authentic feel to it. Great warm welcome too. Spread over three floors with a carvery/buffet halfway up from the basement. Happy friendly staff with great service. There was a large section cordoned off for one of the offices nearby which is a great sign. If office workers reserve a section in pub(and it looked like this was a regular thing) then it means its really a decent place. Great traditional music played here too. Overall a very nice place to stop off at for a pint or two on a rainy day.

Stopped at the Pub on our way downtown when it started raining. We were welcomed by a warmth and friendly staff. Sat at the window, ordered some Guinness(brought to the table) and watched the rain fall. The Ferryman is quite huge, downstairs are some additional tables and a 2nd bar. Definetly good for larger groups. We left after a pint into the rain to continue discovering Dublin.

This happens to be my first real«Irish» bar drinking a pint of real Irish Guinness and man, it was awesome. I haven’t really checked out all of the Dublin pub scene yet so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I am giving it a 4 star because it is my first and the tender was pretty nice.

The Ferryman is a pub behind the Samuel Beckett bridge along the Quays. I have dropped in here quite often and find that it is a great stop off after work on the way home. I like the big windows in the front facing the Liffey with the tables to sit and enjoy a few pints. Good places to go with a few friends. Service is okay, prices are average, the bar and décor are great, as is the location. I believe they had old historic pictures of the Liffey and Docklands, but I may have imagined that after a few pints. I will need to report back on that one. Overall, I enjoy the Ferryman and find that it is one of my choice after work pubs in the area.

It’s ok for a local. I prefer to walk a few minutes to plenty of other pubs in the area that are so much nicer. Too noisy for my liking.

Hmm, when H R said«Brilliant that the Ferryman has NOT a single TV!» I thought to myself that I hadn’t actually seen on in there… and that was a good thing… but then I read«The matches are shown on TV «by Dani B… Now I’m confused! I think I will have to go back there to verify! :P I have been in here a few times, mainly after a Docklands Photowalk, with groups and I find it to be a great pub where we can all talk to each other — about our shots, cameras, whatnot. and have always found it to have friendly and efficient staff, great ‘non-party’ atmosphere and good pints!(This is the first pub where I know ‘regular-locals’ get a slightly better price than the average Joe) The main floor, I must say is really nice because, for those who like this, it has plenty of windows you can actually see out of! I like looking out while drinking… if the conversation wanes. And as busy as it was the one Friday I went in after work had ended in Google I have yet to drink downstairs. It can get very busy on a Fri when the workers get out, but other than that I have found it to be a great place with great atmosphere and would recommend it over anywhere else nearby.

This is our 2nd closest local from work(after the Boat that Doesn’t Rock!). Not a bad place — old type décor inside, lots of wood etc. Barmen are friendly enough. Pint of G is € 4.80 though which is steep. Easy to reserve areas though, and it gets busy even on a Thursday. Reduced to 3 stars from 4 for the prices!

Have you ever been trapped in a well? This pub is like that. There’s a lot to drink; Not a lot to do.

We often go into the ferryman after a walk down the South Quays during the Summer or if we happen to be down that way. It’s a lovely pub to drop into for a pint or two during the afternoon. You can almost smell the River Liffey in this place and if the walls could talk I’m sure we would hear a few river tales or two!
