Came here on the way to the gate theatre as it was handy and really the only restaurant in the area. The food was grand. Nothing out of this world but good for the early bird price and for convenience. The décor has changed since I was in it last and it looks a bit better than the dark dingy restaurant it once was. The waiters were nice and helpful but the manager took the order first and she kinda didn’t have a clue what she was at. Would probably eat here again as it wasn’t too bad.

We eat in here a lot. The staff are nice the food is always good. Prices seem to have gone up a little bit though, we thought, when we were in a few weeks ago. I love their chicken and mushroom val vu vaunts, their chicken wings and their guinness pie just melts in your mouth. We found the new lay out a bit of getting use to as we loved the old booths we sat in.

Just a terrible service experience overall… Was seated in the corner booth where we had to wait a solid 10 minutes just to get anything to drink. We should have left at that point because it only got worse. Appetizer was fine. We ordered chicken for the main course and wanted onion rings instead of french fries and the waiter said fine however when the plate showed up it had french fries. Not a big deal still except the food was delivered to our table — with no utensils. We had to wait A solid five minutes before we can even get a fork and knife. Chicken was plenty cooled down by then and had no taste to it as well. Finished our first drinks but the waiter never came back so we finished our cold chicken and french fries with nothing else to drink. 10 minutes later no drink, no offer of dessert, no check, and no waiter to be found. We got up and fell he just asked someone for the check on our way out the door who explained to us that our waiter went on break! Seriously? We understand that it could be an isolated waiter issue but unfortunately he was the representative for that night…

The fluffiest pastry that was ever fluffed. What else belongs in your beef and Guinness pie? NOTHING. (You’re probably asking yourself if I ate anything besides beef and Guinness pie. Yes, but also no.)

I’d heard loads about this place, particularly the fact that it had a new chef. I called in on a wet & dreary weekday night and I found a wonderful bustling atmosphere. However, I was a little underwhelmed by the food, and we ended up paying € 60 for 2 burgers, 2 cappuccinos and a bottle of house red. From what I could see, I missed a trick and should have gone for the Roast of the Day. This place is perfect if you need ‘a feed’, if you’ve been working all day and know you won’t be eating again for hours. I’ll definitely be back — because the service was fantastic — but next time I’ll go for something a little more exciting than a burger.

When at break from work, and hankering for a roast, I have, from time to time, wondered into Flanagans. And it has always been reliable. It has always reminded me of a restaurant from down the country that somehow has found itself slap bang in our nations capital! It basically does grub well and such very well and up to my last visit I would have given it an easy 4 stars. It’s after getting a facelift and for some inexplicable reason, has installed a bar on one side taking away about a third of the seating in the area. Why? Honestly, I really cannot imagine anyone popping in here for a quick(or slow) pint! Also the floor manager was pretty awful, making no effort to hide the dressing downs he was giving his staff on what was a very busy period. It was uncomfortable to see and hear and and unpleasant experience!

I loved this place! I was waiting to meet a friend in the city and felt a bit peckish and had time to kill. The venue itself is quite nice and gives you a fancy feel, the staff is wonderful and really nice, fantastic service. I ordered fries with aioli and some tea for later. The fries were good and the aioli came in abundance which a lot of places could learn from because it is so good you always end up needed more! I was very happy with my meal here and I will be back to try a more substansial meal as well, also very affordable!

Just okay. The potato leek soup was very good. Bread was stale. The beef roast was so dry and tasteless that I sent it back and ordered the chicken. That was much better but still nothing special. Lots of food for 28.80 e. Came with mashed vegetables, and baby potatoes.

$ 5 breakfasts or $ 9.50 full Irish breakfast! Americano coffee is $ 3, but decently strong. Had a coupon for free Irish coffee from the hop-on hop-off buss passes

Decent fare. Nothing special. I ordered the potato leek soup and house salad. The bread that came with soup was a little on the stale side. Service was good — prompt and attentive. We were referred here by our original choice which was no longer serving dinner. Wish our original choice was available — oh well.

Delicious mini breakfast for a fiver. Located in the heart of the city. This is a great spot for coffee and they also have a restaurant that serves delicious steaks.

Great food and service. Mannerism great considering an event. Like what I mean is, the event was on, yet they were able to handle it. Very well done, I says. I was overwhelmed. hahaha. Price thou was very high for just 3 items. € 20.

I’ve had lunch here a couple of times and it’s always been pretty good! never had any reservations and they’ve always found space for us, even when it’s busy. Got a steak here one time from the lunch special menu and I think I remember being really happy with it. Place is quite small but it’s cosy and clean. It’s kind of a last minute decision to go here as you do sort of get pushed out when you’re finished.

I would love to write them review but basically got thrown away from the table when asked to have a soup with coffee for my lunch. They say their policy is that if you don’t take main course you cannot take a table. Pointless to say that restaurant was completely empty at that time. Two stars for their attitude toward customer.

Me and my other half decided to try here one night after work and we were very pleasantly surprised, it wouldn’t be the most high end of places I think it’s just above a nice pub grub but the food was lovely it was very much so comfort food with a nice chilled out environment with an average price tag

We loved this place! It’s like a nicer version of Denny’s, that’s the best way I can describe it. The prices are great and the food is good. It’s nothing fancy, but everything we had here was good. The Guinness and Steak pie was super delicious, as was the Irish lamb stew. Also, the breakfast combos are cheap and tasty too. It was near our hotel and was open late.

Dublin may not have London’s culinary scene but truly you do not need to stoop to Flanagan’s. The only thing in its favor… it wasn’t pricey.

During a recent trip to Dublin, we decided to grab a meal on O’Connell street. Strolling down the high street we spotted Flanagans, looking at the menu there were a wide choice of dishes so we decided to take a seat. We sat down in this cosy restaurant, and were greeted by a waitress who took our drinks order and gave us the menus. I chose the Collar of Bacon(and of course, a Guinness), and my partner had the Chicken with a tomato-sauce type thing — both meals were beautifully cooked and service was quick. We left having eaten a single course, well and truly full. Overall a great restaurant — highly recommended!

I think I would’ve been better off at the McDonald’s next door. The service was rude, ignorant, and lazy. That was just from a few waiters that stopped by because I flagged them down(more like jumped out of my seat to get them), our actually waitress didn’t feel like bothering with us. The place smells, I don’t know what they were doing below but you could have easily passed out trying to make your way to and from the bathroom. The seats were sticky along with everything there. The worst part is that the food was pretty much inedible. Greasy, bland, and fatty(even the salad was disgusting)… I would even feed it to a dog. I was shocked after it was highly recommended.

Located beside McDonald’s on O’Connell Street, this was where 1980s children went for special occasions, to enjoy the itchy red booths, covered in what appeared to be a kind of a carpet, attentive waitresses and the delights of a knickerbockers glory that you would have to kneel up on the seat to reach. 20 years on and it is still going strong — they even have a guy with a sign at the top of Henry Street advising you to pay a visit. The décor has been updated somewhat since the 80’s — though not by much — and the menu remains much the same. Think boiled collar of bacon, omlettes, stew, salmon, stuffed chicken breast and the like — country people who call lunch dinner will love it. It still does that knickerbocker glory, for the bargain price of € 6.
