It’s ok for what it is, Graces. It’s fried chicken. It’s fast. Sometimes we are lazy and we just want chicken. With maybe a quick pint afterwards in Blackbird or Corrigans. The staff are lovely. Friendly and they alyways drop our food over when it’s ready.

I’ve given graces fried chicken 3 stars although some of the things on the menu would be 2 to be honest. The chicken burgers and fries are pretty good, but the chicken on its own is a little bit below pair in my book. Very greasy. Really nice staff here though and we keep coming back for the chicken burgers, when we really can’t be bothered to cook or have a dining experience!

Pretty much the only word I know in Norwegian is kylling — chicken; it is an indicator as to how seriously I, as a short, fat and balding man take my chicken eating that I bothered to look that up before travelling so many years ago. It is with this same enthusiasm that I wandered into Graces, looking for something deep-fried and tasty, fully expecting something noteworthy given that this is what they specialise in. Myself and junior order chicken and chips and wait for the feast that is undoubtedly about to come our way. What comes, sadly, is a bit soggy with a coating that is too coarse and a flavour I would expect from a corner chipper at 4am when all other choices have long since shut. It was disappointing, to say the least. The shop itself is clean and the staff friendly but no way does it make up for the pretty terrible chicken — the chips were actually pretty good but WAAAYYYY to heavy on salt. One to be avoided I fear!
