I had never heard of this lovely vegetarian café before I attended The Elbow Rooms with my small son for speech therapy recently. We arrived early and the receptionist suggested waiting in the café. I ordered a coffee for myself and some brown bread and butter for the easily pleased youngster and went on our way to the session. On the way back out again I couldn’t resist the delicious smells and decided to get a bento box lunch — 4 salads for € 7.95, quite pricey but honestly worth every cent. Really fresh, tasty and well seasoned salad — beetroot, hummus and 2 others that I cannot currently recall but I just thought when I was eating it that it was so nice to really enjoy an all veggie lunch for a change! The child demanded a scone and that was also first rate, proper homemade scone. We went back again this week and I had the superfood pot — a mix of quinoa, kale, seeds and pomegranate on a bed of hummus. Took me a few mouthfuls to get over the raw kale grassy taste but that’s just me being allergic to super healthy food! Very tasty. Already looking forward to trying something. New when we return in 2 weeks. Oh, and if like me, you visit with small children, they have a cute kids table with books and stuff so you can enjoy your coffee in(sort of) peace
