Love this place. Has real characters daily attending it. Insomnia is the best coffee shop anyway in my opinion but this is just a lovely relaxed environment to chill out on. The staff are just not over the top positive and friendly just nice and normal. And they do make a lovely cup of coffee. Mmmm

Often drop in here for a takeout when I’m in Rathmines, nice enough beverages and their coffee and sandwich for a fiver is exceptional value, plus there is a cute brunette girl who serves there with the most fantastic smile who always seems cheerful, extra star for her!

There seems to be an Insomnia on every street in Dublin city centre these days, and now they’re spreading to the suburban centres too. Insomnia is not a place where I would stop for lunch, or even sit in to have my coffee. I hate the sterile, characterless atmosphere of the modern coffee shop, and Insomnia is no exception. However, I like Insomnia for take-aways. It’s a grand place to grab a decent coffee on the go(accompanied by a yummy muffin for just € 3.50), and they are Irish owned too, so I’d support them any day over Starbucks.

Pretty good and standard coffee shop in Rathmines, which could do with some more coffee shops to be honest. Insomnia is our very own Irish version of Starbucks, only with nice coffee and not staffed by robots. Had a expresso here which was pretty decent. They also have a pastry/scone & coffee deal for € 3.50 and coffee and sandwich/wrap for € 5 which is a pretty good deal.
