Lacoste

Totally disorganised. I went in during their 50% off sale and the clothing was all a jumble. I couldn’t figure out where the mens’ section was or the ladies’ section was. To make matters worse, the mens’ clothing was all tooty-​fruity colors, so it looked like women’s clothing anyway. I thought the mens’ department might be downstairs, so I walked down there, but I discovered that was all childrens’ clothing with some random girly stuff thrown in. I wish these people would put up some f-​ing signs. Come on, how hard is it to find a black Sharpie and write MENS’ SECTION on a sheet of paper?

Lacoste is really not my bag. Expensive, boring and elitist casual wear with a horrible little crocodile embroidered onto everything — no thank you.

There are people that worship Lacoste, the oh-​so-​preppy clothier that makes polo shirts in every color on the rainbow and on which sits the ubiquitous embroidered alligator. These people are complete retards.
It is insane to me that a completely ordinary and inexpensively-​produced polo shirt is made 75 times more expensive because it has an alligator on it. I wonder how it all happened. «Hey guys, our polo shirts are great, but we’re not making enough money. What can we do to make people LUST after these completely ordinary shirts?» «I know, let’s put a gator on ‘em, and market them to yuppies and people with stupid amounts of money who like tennis and live in the suburbs «Yes!» And it worked. By the mid-90’s Lacoste had morphed into an exclusive brand. Boggles the mind.
They sell polo shirts for too much money. Don’t buy one if you have a good head on your shoulders. Go somewhere, anywhere else, and you’ll get a much better price for the same exact shirt. Minus the gator.

Does anyone else think of their dad when they think of Lacoste? It’s old school. It’s expensive. It hasn’t changed in years but yet it’s still alive. If tennis style clothing is your bag, then pop into Lacoste.

Good quality and a well recognised brand, Lacoste has a small specialist shop located on Wicklow street not far from Grafton street. The clothes are quite fashionable, with good cuts, styles and colours. Personally I am a fan of their trainers, they’re really good for sportswear and the gym. They’re up there with Lacostes. Although for such an expensive and high end brand I have always found the logo for lacoste of the cartoon crocodile to be quite crude and cheap looking compared to the rest of the garment.
