During the night of St. Patrick’s day, this place was good for a lovely, quiet drink. It was the only place I encountered that you could have a conversation in and be heard that night That’s not to say that it isn’t nice inside; it is. The staff are friendly and it has this quaint side alley for a smoking area. If you’re looking for a good, lively nightspot, this isn’t the place for you. However it is good for a quiet drink and chat with friends or without. I wouldn’t really go out of my way to come here but if you’re a local(I am), it’s perfect.

These days, I do a lot of baby-sitting in Harold’s Cross, and am nearly always in need of alcohol afterwards. Leonard’s Corner Pub is the nearest place, so I go there. The vibe when you just wander in is that this is a bit of an ‘old man’ bar, but it is welcoming nonetheless. The bartender is very attentive, and makes sure that a helpless lone female like me won’t end up with any unwanted hassle. It’s well designed space –wise, it feels like a big bar when it actually isn’t. Smokers don’t have to stand on the street, there is a little tatty roofed alleyway for us to hide our horrible habits in instead. Not a bad little local at all.

This place was renovated about 5 years ago and really, it hasn’t looked back since. The interior is perhaps darker than you’d expect but very modern and nicely lit. The staff are friendly and the smoking area is like an alley at the side that isn’t really an alley, lovely. A friend of mine used to wander in every Saturday because it is such a pleasant place to hangout on a wet and windy afternoon.
