During the night of St. Patrick’s day, this place was good for a lovely, quiet drink. It was the only place I encountered that you could have a conversation in and be heard that night That’s not to say that it isn’t nice inside; it is. The staff are friendly and it has this quaint side alley for a smoking area. If you’re looking for a good, lively nightspot, this isn’t the place for you. However it is good for a quiet drink and chat with friends or without. I wouldn’t really go out of my way to come here but if you’re a local (I am), it’s perfect.

These days, I do a lot of baby-sitting in Harold’s Cross, and am nearly always in need of alcohol afterwards. Leonard’s Corner Pub is the nearest place, so I go there. The vibe when you just wander in is that this is a bit of an ‘old man’ bar, but it is welcoming nonetheless. The bartender is very attentive, and makes sure that a helpless lone female like me won’t end up with any unwanted hassle.
It’s well designed space –wise, it feels like a big bar when it actually isn’t. Smokers don’t have to stand on the street, there is a little tatty roofed alleyway for us to hide our horrible habits in instead.
Not a bad little local at all.
