On a long drive from Northern Ireland, we stumbled upon this gem. While we would have settled upon any ice cream, even from a grocery store, this came as a shock. The servers were warm, friendly and funny. We had no idea what a «poke» was and clearly they got a kick out of the American tourists. Why can’t the US get this here — especially the honeycomb ice cream?! With small pieces of honeycomb throughout making it a bit crunchy, it is incredible. Wow is all we could say.

Mauds Ice Cream is an Irish business that was started in 1982 in Co. Antrim. It is now a successful chain with branches over Ireland, Northern Ireland and now England as well. It has won many awards for it creamy ice cream and is made from locally sourced milk products. It has over 162 flavours and its most popular is Pooh Bear which is honeycomb and vanilla but my favourite is Forrest Fruits and cream. It has to be tried to be believed! Amazing!
