I tasted better pizza in other Milano ‘s branch, the toppings were not that much, not a generous portion and I felt I was eating more like a starter than a main course and the polentas were burnt.

went here as I heard they had thin crust and its actually surprisingly difficult to get really thin crust pizza in Ireland. Almost as hard to get spicy food, hot on the menu never means hot!!! We ordered the Pandana Romano, Spinach, goats cheese, caramelized onions, cherry tomatoes, the veg was sparse to say the least but the crust was thin as promised. The staff were lovely I must add. The restaurant was clean, as were the toilets thankfully as sometimes they can just let a place down. The only thing I can say is the pizza wasn’t great. Meh, ok, Ive had better, a bit disappointing are all words I could use. Its a chain after all. I normally have a rule. I dont eat in chain restaurants. I went here as my friend suggested it. The only good thing is they all agreed with me to avoid chains in future. Not worth the calories is my final thought.

Not good value for money. Two of us had a Pellegrino, one glass of wine, one Roma pizza and dough balls. € 33 before tip. It’s quite bog standard pizza. Nothing special. Crust very thin but topping sort of slipped off. Next time we are in Dundrum we will go to Counter burger just across the block

Have to say I’ve never been a fan of the Milanos extra thin pizza style. I like mine bready whereas these are practically transparent. Had a perfectly adequate Romana which was on the centreline of mehness in my view. OH had quite an enormous Salmon Salad which she said was good but it looked gross, the salmon being buried in a huge pile of lettuce — or ‘scutch’ as a friend calls it which seemed a very apposite description in this case. Presentation not a core competence it would seem. We went there because we had a 2 for 1 on mains voucher which, in fairness, was a bargain. I wouldn’t be rushing back.

While I’ve nothing terrible to say about the Dundrum Milano, I’ve absolutely nothing really good to say about it either. The tables are very close together in this restaurant and, given that there’s usually a lot of young kids, this can be quite uncomfortable. We dropped in at 7pm on a Wednesday and got a seat in about 5 minutes, which was nice. The staff, like the restaurant, were adequate. We had to practically wave our arms in the air to get their attention for water for the table and then waited 20minutes for them to come back to take our order. One of our party received his food a good 5−10minutes before the rest of us so that it was freezing(he’s polite and didn’t want to start before us) before we all served. The food was quite good, better than average italian(pizzas).

Hard to go wrong with Milano — it pretty much does what it says on the tin(if the tin said ‘Milano’ and that was a direct translation in some strange language for ‘Italian food place’), half decent pizza and pasta at reasonable prices. They look after the kids too with a starter, mains & dessert for under 9Euro — also, colouring materials which buys parents 5 mins peace and quiet which is worth its weight in gold… you know, if you could weigh peace and quiet.

The best part of this place is on sunny days it’s fun to sit out by the fountains. It’s pretty expensive for what you get, but I generally like the pizza I get here. It’s nothing amazing, and for the price it should be. It’s just your normal, trying-to-be-more-Italian-than-it-is type of place.

The waiter was slow to come over, but once he did, he was friendly enough. The food over all was fine. I started off with a bruchetta which was ok and then an American thin base pizza. You can tell it’s very family friendly with plenty of kids eating there, which isn’t ideal if you don’t have a great liking for them! I prefer not to be surrounded by kids but for a quick enough meal it’s fine.

Thursday night after 8, almost packed, kids party at a few tables, terrible noise including from the bizarre power fountain when seated outside. First staff encounter downright rude, stressed out annoyance. Second one at table had a better night at work it seemed but couldn’t figure out our voucher code without involving what seemed like every other staff member while keeping us waiting for 5+ minutes. Anyway…food is fine, pizza great, boring salad definitely overpriced(€ 13.50), might have stayed around for coffee and such if above circumstances were better suited to our taste.

As it turns out this seems to be the restaurant of choice for people with small children, and while I’m more tolerant of children that I used to be, it’s not my favourite soundtrack to have dinner to. 5 of us popped in for an impromptu dinner on Sunday evening. It was about 6.30 which might account for the profusion of children. We waited for about 20 mins for a table, as did many other people. So it was a bit annoying to see that their whole upstairs section was empty. While I understand that opening more than one section requires more staff, it doesn’t make sense to turn away custom when you do have the space, especially in a place like Dundrum town centre where there’s tonnes of other places to eat. That aside the meal was perfectly nice, aside from us freezing every time the door opened. The children were all reasonably bahaved during our dinner, which is just as well because we were literally surrounded by them! They have good lighter option pizzas and there’s currently an offer for free tea/coffee with dessert. Our waiter was pleasant, despite being overbusy, and despite our complicated payment division(3 different laser cards and a hi-life card!). So, you know, it was fine. But it wouldn’t be my first choice!

Popped in this evening for an impromptu meal with my Mom. Asked for a table by the widow — no problem — 2 minutes later shown to the table — nice view — pleasant surroundings — convenient for shopping, cinema and theatre. I found the service excellent — attentive but not over-bearing, efficient and thoughtful — professional. The menu was very good with a mix of salads, pastas and pizzas. There was a good selection for the vegetarian — with vegetarian options clearly identified as such. We shared a vert tasty bruschetta, followed by a pizza for Mom and a Nostrana salad for me, a glass of wine and a cappucino to top it off. All in all a very pleasant meal, a very enjoyable experience and all round a good experience. It was a bit noisy but not uncomfortable. There were tables outside by the millpond too. Overall its a good spot for a quick lunch, light dinner after shopping or before a movie/theatre. Its not somewhere that you’d want to spend an evening over a leisurely meal but its a good spot and well worth a visit.

This was a «what do you want to eat?»…“Whatever…what do YOU feel like…” «I dunno, what sounds good?» …“Can’t you ever just make a decision?” incipient argument mollifying option when trying to figure out where to have dinner in Dundrum Town Centre before a movie. I’d never been, SHE’d never been, and we wanted to sit outside. Since it’s a chain/franchise type restaurant, I only had moderate expectations to begin with, but I am pleased to report that Milanos of Dundrum exceeded them(on the food/flavor front) with a small but satisfactory wine list, a couple of delicious mains, and tasty deserts. She had the Pollo Pesto and I had the Diavolo Pizza, and we both thought they were good values and fairly tasty. I picked from their Dolcetti dessert menu, which is almost like a tapas menu for desert and she had the regular chocolate fudge cake, which she said was one of the better deserts she’s had in Dublin. Overall, a nice dining experience. But the service was AWEFUL and that always costs stars. In this case, our server came back to us about 30 seconds after we asked for a few minutes, sort of hung about sighing until we decided(we DID say we needed a few minutes…) and then, after our mains came, we never saw him again. Water glasses went unfilled, the second glass of wine I would have ordered went the way of the dodo, and we were never able to catch the eye of any other server to ask after our erstwhile waiter. Fortunately, like a hospitality tyrannosaurus, the manager must have noticed our movement as we wiggled around trying to figure out where our server was and came out to ask if everything was ok, so we were able to secure desert menus. Then, when we were ready to order dessert, we actually had to go find the hostess, who then went and found a server to come take our order. Cleverly, we told the new server to please bring our our dessert, our bill, AND the little machine all at once so we could settle up and get to our movie. Bottom Line: I’ll be back because the spicy Diavolo pizza is om nom nom-worthy!!!

I always thought milano’s was an Irish chain until I went to the uk and discovered a very similar restaurant, with very similar décor and a very similar menu. I put two and two together and being the genius that I am(!) I realised they simply brought over the Pizza Express brand and changed the name. Milano’s is all over the country — well certainly in most of the big cities anyway. There’s a handful in Dublin — Dawson St, Baggot St Bridge, Temple Bar, Hanover Quay and now in Dundrum. The restaurant is split level and is very catered towards family during the day — it gets a lot of the off spill from the shopping centre — think yummy mummies lunching with the kids and you’ll get a good picture. But at night it’s more couples and big groups of friends. The food is good — mostly pizza with a few salads and pastas. I do love their bruschetta starter and their garlic dough balls are good to begin with too. The pizza is nice — authentic Italian with a thin base etc but it won’t blow your mind. You’d know they were churning out a few hundred of them every few days. It’s quite a busy spot and they don’t take bookings, which always annoys me! They do have a waiting list though so you can put your name down and they will call you when a table becomes available. It’s a nice place to unwind and if it’s a good day you can sit upstairs out on the deck, or downstairs beside the water feature. Oh and if you like rose, I can definitely recommend the bottle they serve
