A great little gym — it’s got pitches, pool, gym and free weights. Not too busy most of the time. It’s got reasonable student rates. The staff are friendly, it’s clean and open any time I want to go there. It’s not a posers gym, it’s nice for everyone. Free weight area could be bigger and the weights are often left lying. Maybe better enforcement of their put-​back-​weights policy. All in all a good and convenient gym

Another great pool and another pool with individual changing rooms (I love that!). this pool also has a seperate small pool for children this is so good when you are going to swim lengths because it means you dont have to avoid small children floating across you swimming path!
there is a great Gym in here to, i have to really compliment Dun Laoghaire Rathdown on the revamp they have given this pool!

Funny thing about this place is that it used to be officially called «Blue Pool» and still is by people like myself… funny in that it was rarely blue, more like green, brown, or dark, or dangerous… or full of plasters.
Either way they were different times, when a swim cost 50p to a guy in the wall, turn right for men and left for women, shut your eyes and hope to god you don’t swallow the water.
These days Blue Pool is «Monkstown Health and Fitness Centre» and it is a fantastic example of how the times have changed. Excellent facilities with a gym, pool, football pitches and much more. It looks like a place to get fit, rather than to get sick. Which in my book is an improvement!

Great facility. Football pitches can be rented for (roughly) under € 50 before 4pm and over € 50 from then on. Surprisingly good gym and swimming pool for between € 4.50 and € 6.50(depending on variables like time of day, student/​pensioners discounts etc.)
Overall a pretty solid public gym, changing room floors tend to be wet but that’s not the end of the world. Be careful about when you choose to go for a swim, flocks of kids are to be avoided at all costs.
