This store is very disorganised and messy. I have had multiple dealings with the staff, including returns/replacements etc. While the whole process was painfully slow and all over the place, the staff always did their best once nudged a little. There is a very good selection of baby items; I’m not a big fan of the ELC toys, which tend to be exclusively plastic and they never work quite like they are supposed to(I bought a rather expensive frog that is supposed to swim in the bath but just flaps on the spot for a second, and a little house with a swing and little people who actually are too tall to fit on it, making my daughter so incredibly frustrated with it I had to remove it). This store would really benefit from being run a little more professionally, but you’ll eventually find what you need!

Having the most gorgeous 2 year old grandson in the universe means that we are such suckers for anything we think he will like. Its so totally worth it tho, when I get little voice messages from him saying«chooo choo» Mothercare is one of those places where if you’ve a little one to buy for, you will find something you want. For us, its a purveyour of Thomas The Tank Engine clothing. Shirts, PJ’s, socks, jocks. there’s nothing that doesn’t come with Thomas on it! Some of the clothes are a bit expensive, but some are actually quite reasonable. They have some interesting toys out for Xmas, and a lot are«activity» based such as games or crafts, which I find nice. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Mothercare looks after the needs of both the baby and baby mama and is a top spot for buying presents for parents-to-be and their subsequent offspring. I assume it’s also good if you have children yourself. They have adorable outfits to melt even the hardest of hearts — I bought a Tigger suit with ears and a TAIL — as well as cots, toys, bottle warmers and a whole host of baby-friendly paraphernalia. The staff members are lovely and will talk you through the ins and outs of each product and they are dignified even in the face of extreme provocation. When I was in there, one assistant was being roundly abused by a couple who had broken the wheel off the buggy that they possibly had bought there.

Okay, so I’m not a mother but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have an opinion on maternity clothes and baby accessories. From what I saw today in Mothercare, I’m not in love with this place. First off, the shop was quite messy. Not only were there clothes on the floor but the carpet actually needed some hoovering. The baby clothes were cheap enough, something like 5 euro for a sleeper, but the colours were nauseating. I know that baby clothes don’t only come in pastels because I saw some cute ones in the Oxfam Fair Trade shop. In case anyone was wondering, Mothercare also sells pre and post natal accessories like the Prenatal Listening System(yep, you read correctly), breast pumps and a Caesarian Belt(?).

Mothercare specialise in baby clothes and items. I visited the store twice to buy clothes for my niece. The clothes are a little expensive for baby clothing but the quality of the clothes are excellent. You won’t find baby clothing as you would in Mothercare, the design and fabric is of great quality, just what you expect from Mothercare. They also sell cots, prams and toys. It is hard to get hold the staff at times since they are always placing large orders for customers or helping customers to make a choice on the larger items. However when I did get hold of the staff they were friendly. I guess the place is short staffed but you do get served quite quick when you wait by the checkout. A good store to visit if you want quality baby clothes.
