I don’t like shopping in places like this one for a simple reason, they do not care if you are loyal customer or just passer by, and being a loyal customer for years, when you have to face rudeness and indifference, just makes you never want to come back. Staff just looks like they slag around, even thought there’s lots of people looking to try on the shoes. Half of the shoes don’t have price tags on them, so we asked one of the«assistants» the price of shoes. Were told the price, asked to try them on, to what he disappeared for 5 minutes only to come back with one shoe. Now, I don’t know about yall, but when trying shoes I usually try the pair, not just one. Finally got the second shoe, went to the till to pay only to find out the actual price is much higher, to what of course I expressed my dissatisfaction to be rudely told by the girl on the till to calm down, which is probably the worst thing you can say to annoyed customer. Eventually the girl, still quite rude as if doing us a giant favor informed us that she is going to give us student discount… yeah, grand, thanks, never will be back though. Sales staff needs fix their faces, attitudes and improve their general work flow, but of course it’s up to the employer to sort…

Nothing special here. Regular normal shoes. Not my first choice on Henry street.

God I love shoes. I love good shoes. Expensive shoes. Not for snob reasons, but when you drop that extra they last the testament of time. Most of my shoes are ancient and got lost in hurricane Katrina so I need to restock. I really want to love Office and I do… Yes that is a contradiction in terms like real love usually is. I get it, I get it’s style and I dig it but most of the time when I’m ready to commit it retreats into it’s shell and displays stuff that does not turn me on. But when I don’t have the cash to drop it’s such a tease with all that hot leather and excellent European design. Our timing never seems to be right. Maybe tomorrow we’ll be ready to make it work.

I go weak at the knees for Office shoes and I’m a big fan of this store on Henry Street. It’s right bang in the midst of my favourite Dublin shopping zone and if you’re not feeling flush they nearly always have a sale section down the back. I usually make a beeline for that and work my way up to the front. The staff are very friendly and efficient and are on hand to get your size or whatever else you might need. Only problem is if you’re into shoes like me you’ll be broke leaving the shop!

There is something a little trendy about office that i cant get my head around. I have come to realise that they are in fact a little cheaper than other store like Schuh but that they dont have the same broad selection and are a little more incllined to have only the stuff that is «IN» in stock. That said the price is a good thing here and they always have a big range of converse and Vans. Not that i would know… i swear… but according to those of the female variety i have ben with in this store all the heals on their shoes are freakin’ massive! Now most men would argue that this shouldn’t concern them, but the next time its 5 am and you cant find a taxi and she wont stop moaning about her sore feet… or perhaps your in the back of an ambulance with your sister who is adament that she’s «Just fiiiiiiiine!» when she in fact fell over on her ankle and invented a new bone out the bottom of her leg right there and then… Ok a bit of an exageration but it justifies me putting it in this review so why not?

Now, I do not consider myself a shoe girl. I love to look at high heels, but rarely wear them. When I do go out with my «big girl shoes» on, I usually bring along some flip-flops when the discomfort gets to be too much. Despite this, even I think a lot of the shoes at Office were cute enough to splurge a bit on and take out on the town. They have a nice mix of styles to offer — not everything is fancy, though there are some staggeringly high heels that I honestly wonder if anyone ever buys. They also have some super cute flats(way more my speed) and lots of sneaks in cool colors, especially for guys. Everything is right on trend though some pairs have a bit more zing to them, which is why I really liked this shop. I cannot wait to get some cash because there is a pair of hidden platform, red patent leather heels with my name on them.

Office is a good place to start if you’re looking for shoes that are both trendy and affordable. They do a lot of great sales and have a variety of different styles in both women and men’s footwear. The outlet on Henry Street is different than the one on Grafton as it is not as busy and cramped. I was at this particular shop this morning and there were three racks of marked-down merchandise with a mix of strappy sandals and runners. I had to wait a while to get served even though there were four people on the floor. However, the sales assistant made up for the delay by being very friendly and helpful. On three separate occasions she ran up the stairs to get me different sizes and styles. In the end, I ended up getting a pair of black comfortable Fred Perry’s for 22 Euro(half-priced). Not bad for a half hour of shopping!
