Only came here for coffee and to buy new beans after a meeting nearby. GREAT coffee served here. I thought the guys working there were dead sound. We were lucky enough to get two seats and sat just inside the door in the(chilly) sunshine. I loved the sound of their sandwiches. Will just have to return to try one out.

Oxmantown is a great little café with really annoying opening hours. They open Monday-Friday from early til 4pm. This means that unless you work in the area or don’t work the standard worky hours Oxmantown may well have slipped under your radar. When they’re shut they just look like a solid grey box, they don’t even have a shop name! It’s on the window, which is hidden when the shutters are down. Anyway whenever I do happen to find myself in town during those hours I always try to swing by Oxmantown for one of their out-of-this-world brownies. They are genuinely the best ones in Dublin, and priced at SEVENTYFIVECENTSEACH. It’s insane. They are chocolatey and gooey, small enough but just the right amount, with lovely whole hazelnuts nestled inside. It’s worth it to come here for the brownies alone! Aside from this they also do a selection of other small pastries(madeleines etc) and salads/sandwiches/soups. Anything I’ve had has been really nice and very well priced. It’s also a nice place to sit & people-watch! The only downside for me is the coffee — they serve Cloud Picker and I find it quite milky for my taste.

Wow wow wow. I love sambos and man oh man do they make good sambos here! I’ve had this bookmarked for a while and as I’m rarely in this part of town I made a point of making a bee line to it yesterday when I was nearby! I actually really wanted to try their flatbread but they were all out. Not gonna lie, I was momentarily gutted. So I opted for their ham and cheese sandwich instead. DIVINE. This was without a doubt the nicest sandwich I’ve had in long long time. The ham was off the bone, there was Gruyère cheese, rocket, tomato and pickles! The bread itself was nice and chewy and fresh. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single bite. It might be a few months until I’m in this part of town again but at least I know where to get some delicious grub to go!

Seriously good sandwiches and salads for lunch. There’s not much room to eat in(standing space only), so it’s strictly a take-away joint, but it’s cute and friendly and the service is fast. The ham and cheese was particularly memorable and another great example of how simple ingredients done well can be mind-blowing. Oxmantown’s version of this classic sandwich is made with real ham(chunks of moist tender meat, not the rubbery pre-sliced stuff from the supermarkets), gruyère, bechamel sauce, tomato and toasted to perfection on sourdough. SO good. The Lebanese salad was also fantastic. It was so fresh and bursting with interesting textures and flavours — hummous, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate seeds, cucumber, mint, olives, fresh chunks of nectarines… the flavours kept giving and giving. It’s all served with a pita wrap, so is definitely a meal in itself but if you wanted to share, it’s a nice counter-balance to the richness of any of the meaty sandwiches. Oh, and in the mornings, you can grab a cinnamon bun and a coffee for € 3.50! Bargain!

Oxmantown is such a gem! I came in here for lunch with a friend and upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter. They’ve got a nice number of sandwiches to select from on the wall, as well as an assortment of baked goods on the counter. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich(€ 5.50) and a Mint Lemonade, and by-golly, they were delicious. I thought the sandwich was a little dry because of the bap bread, but the flavors were definitely there. If you get anything out of the review, please take note that the Mint Lemonade is a god send. It is so refreshing, and I would highly recommend it – on a sunny day, people watching, sippin’ on some lemonade… that’s the good life. Oxmantown, I’m coming back for ye!

A hipster good place — finally! Just a suggestion: can you add more and more healthier things to your breakfast menu?

THAT brownie!!! Oh my Goodness, I can never un-know about this place now so my waistline is in trouble. It’s rich, it’s got proper big hazelnuts in it, it’s home made, the perfect size and it’s only 75c. Add an americano which was also so so good and you get change from 3Euro. In Dublin. Seriously! There’s free water to enjoy alongside your brew if you like it Viennese, the staff is incredibly friendly and I like the layout with small stools along the windows to watch people passing by. Very cool place indeed!

Oxmantown do the best brownies in Dublin. They are amazing. They are full of nuts and are incredibly gooey and soft on the inside. So chocolatey. So very chocolatey. What makes them even better is the fact that they are only 75 cents. That is right; the best brownie in Dublin is only 75 cents. There are many places selling inferior brownies for more than 3 times that much. Oxmantown’s brownies blow them out of the water in every possible way. The café is situated on Abbey street, just off Capel street. It is a nice little place; brightly lit and quiet with a great window to sit in and watch the trams go by. They do lovely homemade soups and some really good sandwiches. I got the Ruby(Reuben; delicious pastrami on rye with saurkraut, pickles, horseradish and swiss cheese. Thoroughly delicious; the best Reuben I’ve had outside of New York. They have great coffee too(I think its Cloud Picker). My one issue with this place is its absurd opening hours; they open nice and early at 7.30am but they close very early too 4.00pm. When I have the chance to pop in at lunch time and pick up some brownies I do, but I am usually on my way home just after 4.00 so it is rare that I get to do that. I know it is a minor issue but I would love to make Oxmantown brownies a part of my walk home every day: P

A bijou little corner of Dublin 7, very popular with the law folk of nearby Four Courts and the Kings Inns. The staff are very warm and friendly, which considering its hip reputation, comes as a surprise. Most items on the menu — the salads and sandwiches cost € 5.50. If you’re coming here at lunchtime(opening hours are limited to 12−4pm daily except Sundays) and joining the back of the queue, you don’t have to squint over customers shoulders at a menu behind the counter — its proudly displayed on the large tiled wall facing the doorway of the café. I had the grilled cheese, served diner style in a plastic basket. It hit the spot, not the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had, as gruyère cheese is quite a mild cheese, but it was warm, crispy and comforting. I was lucky enough to grab one of the window benches, perfectly placed for people watching along the Luas track. This place is smart, and does attract the suits, but for the service and grub, I’ll be back! Oh they also do sweet little squares of brownies if you’re looking for a wee sugar hit after your lunch.

Ooh the sandwiches here are yum! I went for the pulled pork and my boyfriend got the ham and cheese. Both were amazing. The pulled pork had this boiled egg type of dressing — perfection! I love the simple non nonsense interior — there’s not much seating though so you may have to take it to go. Lastly, I took Emily’s suggestion to get the ice tea(it was like an arnold palmer, with lemonade). It was lovely and tangy and just the right amount of sweet.

A hipster like café and love the coffee too. It’s relatively small and it’s located in a quiet corner next to capel street. Location is handy and only downside is they don’t open on the weekends!

I only get to eat here once a week as it’s a bit of a trek from my office but it we’ll worth the enforced exercise! The sandwiches are really great… the ham and cheese uses delicious ham hock… the pulled pork is the best in Dublin(better then Brother Hubbard) and if you want something light, the chicken and stuffing hits the spot. They also do a very tasty lemon and poppyseed slice and the famous 75c brownie is just the perfect size for a lunchtime treat. If you are on this side of town it’s not to be missed!!!

I think this place is a little bit overrated. The coffee is nice. The sandwiches are ok and treats are poor. It is pretty annoying too when they refuse to toast a sandwich because they are busy. They should be trying to keep customers and be happy that they are busy.

Found out about Oxmantown from Instagram oddly enough. Decided to swing by early morning to give it a go. It’s a small little café most of the seating is along the window facing out, it dosnt feel cramped though. They have a short counter where the till and a few baked treats are. The serve cloud picker coffee with is a favourite of mine and I have yet to go wrong with them. The coffee is both delicious and presented well. They also sell brownies! This may not seem like a big deal, but the brownies are 75c!(I got 2) seem rude not to ! The brownies have been made specifically to compliment the house coffee(Sam, from CP) with the vanilla having been personal sourced by the owner from a farm in Uganda All round a great place to stop by, staff are nice, foods nice and the place looks great too. A fab place it spend a little time in.

If there’s a better sandwich in town I haven’t found it, and believe me I’ve looked. The pulled pork is a must if you’ve never been before, but the corned beef should now be overlooked either. Keep an eye out for the daily specials too. The lamb with mint aioli is stunning at the minute and there was a sirloin one a few weeks back that would make a native of Argentina weep with delight. Enjoy

Great coffee, great sandwiches and my personal favourite; great cinnamon rolls. I work around the corner from Oxmantown and would HIGHLY recommend it. The staff are great too and always remember my regular order before I ask for it. Pop in and try it out, you won’t be disappointed!

I spent two weeks trying a few cafes and coffeeshops each day, including the usual standouts like 3fe, Brother Hubbard, etc. Oxmantown consistently had the best coffee(Cloud Picker micro roast), sandwiches, and specials out of all of them. Great laid-back vibe with a simple counter and stool setup, with a nice selection of indie rock playing. Friendly staff to boot. If you’re in Dublin, go to Oxmantown.

I’ve been meaning to review Oxmantown for a while now… This draft has been sitting for a month. But I keep on putting it off in order to do more research… Coffee: Good Their coffee is tasty. The barista knows what he’s doing. It’s not the best coffee in town(brother hubbard nearby is better), but it’s good value and tasty. Snacks: Tasty brownies They sell € 0.75 brownies. For context, you could get 4 of these brownies for the same price as bus ticket. They are small, but delicious. Food: excellent Oxmantown does sandwiches.(The menu is on the wall, it took me a while to find it, so be warned). Go for the pulled pork blaa. It has juicy & tender pork, good bread for it, and a great size. All their sangers are € 5.50. Atmosphere: Jovial The barista at the till is friendly & witty, and the man in the kitchen is a quite complementary foil in the act. Seating: non-existant There are 10 stools in the place, so this is not a place for a pleasant afternoon’s chats. It will be packed at lunch time. Be prepared to get takeaway. It is a lot less busy outside of the 1 – 2 lunchbreak. You should give Oxmantown a go!

75c hazelnut brownies? Seemed a bit cheap so I asked if I was reading it right. ‘Well,’ sez my genial host, ‘if that’s too cheap for you I can charge you 85c. Is that alright?’. ‘Huh?’ sez I. ‘Ok,’ sez he, ‘95c. No, a euro, just for you’. ‘Okay okay! Stop right there. Grand. I’ll have a coffee as well’. So, service with a smile, great coffee, and 75c brownies. Of course when I went to pay for my € 2 coffee and my 75c brownie, I was told my brownie was now € 2.75…but my coffee was free. Haha!
