I’ve been in Dublin for around 9 months now and have had the same job for the whole time.
I’ve been approached 4 times by Prosperity (4 separate consultants) and each time it’s the same format:
* Approach by consultant. Vague description of the job. Request to meet/​call
* Me. Explain i’m in a contract but will discuss the role with them
* Then nothing. Every time.
I appreciate that it’s a numbers game but every other consultant i’ve spoken to here has made some effort to actually speak to me rather than spam me and then ignore.

I haven’t had the need to use a recruitment agency for about two years, thankfully and I am very aware of how fortunate I am. So I was very surprised that when I returned a missed call that I got at 9:45am later that afternoon that it was Prosperity.
It was Gary the owner of the agency on the line. I am popping up the star not because he asked me and that would be unethical and dishonest in my book. He didn’t ask me by the way, in fact he said he doesn’t mind if I don’t update but he just wanted to apologise for my experience.
I think it says a lot and took a lot for him to call and explain to me the ethos of the company and share his personal story of living in California as an actor for several years and the rejection of not getting the call backs and then the culture shock of returning home.
He also took on board my thoughts on job seeking in that the job seeker especially if they are unemployed or not happy in their job are very tender so the front of house needs to be warm and engaging.
I really was taken a back and really appreciated chatting to him and his passion for his business and the fact he was decent enough to call me and not berate me on the phone.
