History

Established in 1887.

Rody Bolands is one of Dublin’s oldest Licensed Premises, previously known as Streets, The Concorde, The Hideaway, Kennedy’s etc… Previous owners included men from Dublin, Cavan, Leitrim, Galway, Tipperary, Cork & other Counties.

Rodys is a Genuine, Unique old style Bar & Grocery. Founded in 1878 in Nenagh, County Tipperary, by the Mc Mahon Family from County Clare (who later moved to a larger premises in Limerick), then purchased by Edward Boland (Father)

During the Economic Recession of the thirties, the business, which also included a a hardware & fuel store plus beer, wine & spirit supply depot, fell into difficult trading times. The business ceased, despite the best efforts of the Boland Family, and in 1937, closed its doors for trading and remained, thankfully, as a family home.

The contents of the premises (intact) were purchased and lovingly repaired, restored and moved to its present location in Rathmines in1994. Rody Bolands strive to achieve the best standard
