Having lived nearby Rathfarnham village on and off the last 5 years this is my first time trying out what I’m sure is a well known south side deli and off-licence. Its really old school with a big long deli counter on the right as you walk in. Had a great tasty roll from there for lunch the other day and was gonna buy a bottle of wine, you know cos day time drinking is great craic, as a present for someone, really. Wish there were more places like this left in Dublin, as Spar and Centra seem to be making their sambo’s blander and blander. As well as the deli they do pretty much everything food and drinks wise and do corporate, wedding and any special event weddings.

Rowans is a great old style deli stuffed to the brim with delicious home made food. The counter is massive and stretches from one end of the shop to the other. The top of the counter is full of tasty tempting treats like muffins, cakes, slices and scones, their apple pie is my favourite. The deli staff are really nice and friendly and make great filling fresh sandwiches to your order and are really quick and efficient especially during the lunch time rush hour. I think the Salmon, Lasagna and chicken and broccoli pies are delicious, really tasty, stuffed to the brim, not just scabby portions, and not fatty or sickly in anyway, in fact I always feel really good and healthy after eating here! They cater as well for parties or business events.
