I had the masaman curry, it was ok but didnt blow me away… Wifey however had the tameran duck, it was spectacular. Now, before you device not to go for the masaman, take into account that the grass is alwas greener… the far away look, smell and oh so small taste I had of the duck(before I had tasted my curry) was enough to have me cursing myself for a bad choice… but then, I do that every time. Overall, Siam is great — hard to go wrong no matter what you order!

This my go-to place to order pickup Thai. Nothing beats a nice good quality to-go Thai. And the convenience of being able to order online is really nice. That being said, if you are looking for a sit down place to eat — I’d suggest going closer to the city center, but this place is perfect for the person just looking for some good quality Thai to-go.

Got a takeaway here for the first time the other day and it was only delish. The woman who took the order over the phone was cheerful and lovely to deal with. The food arrived promptly within 20 minutes of ordering(granted we were only round the corner), and the delivery guy was courteous and friendly. I ordered the ‘3 Flavoured Duck’ which was true to form and flavoursome to the max. The duck was marinaded so much, I couldn’t get enough of it. Sweet flavours from the pineapple, savoury from the basil, with a nice chili kick at the end. I liked the fact that you could order it with brown rice too. Seriously seriously yum!

Ordering online was a doddle. Staff calling to say I’d done it wrong was friendly and even doddlier. Delivery was with a smile. The starter was honey crumbed prawns and tamarind. Seriously delicious and cooked perfectly. Just enough sauce for dipping too. The main was tamarind duck(yes I like tamarind!) and boiled rice. Delicious also, but sweet. I know tamarind is sweet and that’s why I like it, but I would have liked a few bits of veg just to give that added extra bite of savoury. Not a big deal, it was delicious, but the portion was massive, and just the same taste. I would order it again, but would order a side of veg or spring rolls for added savourynessness! Great for tamarind lover heads, Thai lover heads, and, I’m too lazy to walk to the fridge and make food so I’ll order online and have to get dressed to answer the door to the delivery guy and veg out to a movie heads!

One of many reviews of my Thai food tour of Dublin. Siam Thai is right by my place so I’ve been to this location quite a few times. It’s a small little place just south of Dublin 2. The décor is simple, modern and has cozy feel to it. All of my meals have been take-out so I cannot speak to the dine-in service. You can see the kitchen from the order desk and usually it’s a two person operation. I’ve seen the same elderly women with either her husband or son every time I’ve been. The food comes out fairly quick(10min) and you’re out the door. Service at the counter is usually friendly. As for the food, it’s a little more salty then the thai food I’ve had around Dublin. I think they use a little more tamarind pulp than other places. On the plus side, they load up the chicken(or whatever meat you choose for your meal). Furthermore, I’ve asked for extra hot twice and boy do they pile on the spiciness! As a traditionally mild dish, the pad thai was spiced up to the perfect level. The Chillies & Basil dish is already spicy by itself, after asking for it extra spicy, I was essentially in a coma. I took me about 2 days to finish. I’ve been to many thai places in Dublin and Siam is one of the better ones. I definitely will be eating there again, and will possibly try the dine-in.
