Perfect little pub, this place really is the perfect little local pub spot where it’s back to basics yet is everything I love about an Irish pub:

No food served here but if the café is open next door they don’t mind you bringing grub in from there… And hey, if your order needs to some to prep, the staff at Nellies will run the food into Smyths for you when it’s ready… Not bad, eh… Local businesses supporting each other!

Belter of a pub. Smallish, perfect for a nice Saturday pint unless it’s a rugby match day. The staff are seriously nice. There are enough TVs to watch sport too.
When I was in (Saturday afternoon), sat at the bar, asked for s food menu. As it turned out they weren’t doing food that day but the bar tender told me to go into the café next door (High Nellys€ and order a sambo, which I did. The owner of the café dropped it into me about 10 mins later. It was like a 4 course meal. Great value at 9.95 (the triple decker with a side of chips.).
When Ireland are playing in the Aviva the pub take our all the seats so that there is only standing room. Not great if you’re looking for a pub to watch the match in.
but other than that I think its a great little pub.

Neat pub on Haddington Road near the «golden mile» of pubs on baggot Street. The pub is larger than it looks from the outside. As you first enter, it definitely looks like an old mans pub, but the back half of the pub looks a little bit more modern, as you’d expect a gastropub to look. There loads of little places to sit down and grab a pint and chat with friends. It does get pretty packed after matches on at the Aviva and RDS. Although, all the pubs in this area are packed on those times.
I’ve never had the food there, so I can’t comment on that. But the staff were super nice and friendly while I was there (even though it was super busy and packed after match the last time I was there).
They have an outdoor area which is nice to sit in during the summer months, but it’s also kept fairly well heated in the winter months. (not so warm that you can take off your coat, but warm enough that you’re not freezing. They also have several tv’s located around the inside and outside of the pub to watch matches while they’re on.
All in all, great place to grab a pint and catch up with friends.

Really love this pub. Quite small and cosy. The staff are all brilliant! Lovely for a pint on a cold winters night, and not too rowdy or packed.

Lovely spot just off Baggot st bridge. Bar staff are great and the Guiness is how it should be in this part of the world: substantial.
Nice place to sit outside on a sunny day but I’m a big fan of the bar myself. Gets crazy on match days but so does everywhere in spitting distance of landsdowne rd (or the Aviva if you’re under 30).
You’re also a short stagger from Kanum Thai for the good feed after pints.

We sat outside which was very nice and not too busy.
Typical old man traditional pub inside with a beautiful old fashioned cash register. Food options were pizza or two types of sandwiches either toasted or not. I went for the ham and cheese and it looked like may Dad made it, that is, chunky and loaded with fillings. Rustic even?
Nice spot.

A friend took me to Smyth’s today to celebrate our last exam for this year. It’s a great wee pub just around the corner from Baggot Street and it’s just perfect for a quiet pint to celebrate.
Smyth’s looks like a proper old-​school pub, it even has a snug as my friend pointed out! There isn’t a lot of room to sit down since it really is a small place, but that also makes it very cozy. The barmen are great fun and know how to draw a good pint, they are attentive and they recognize their locals. The only downside is, their pints are slightly dearer than the ones in the pubs down the road. Still this is a great place to go to during the coming winter months and enjoy a nice pint and a chat.

Smyth’s on Haddington Road is a great pub. The barmen are great guys, who’ll join in on the fun that you’re having and turn a blind eye when you get a little racous!
On one side there’s a very old-​school pub and on the other there’s a lounge where the younger lemons hang out. There’s also an outdoor terrace at the back for smokers. It’s a really good pub that’s great for starting off your night or settling down to have the good old chats.
