Description

Specialties

A traditional Irish pub well located for accessing the city or local stadiums. Well know for a great pint and a warm welcome. Smokers are well catered for with 2 areas for smoking, one out front the other to the rear at the Percy Place entrance. We serve lunch Mon to Friday and light snacks in the evening, including pizza.

History

Established in 1954.

The Smyth family bought the pub we think in 1954. Previously it was called Renehans. Throughout recent decades the pub has had to adapt many times to the changing times and businesses of the area. The advertising boom of the seventies was followed by the dark eighties. Then came the expansion of Irish film production in the nineties, and the crews and post production people made a haven for themselves in smyths. Since 2001 Smyths has been under its current ownership. Interestingly, Smyths was the first pub in Ireland to be sold by auction over the Internet.
