i had a really bad experience on friday night in this take away restaurant. there were three staff on duty as well as the security guard. on entering the shop, my sister and i found an empty shop and proceded to order. at no stage in the transaction or service did the server look at us and had a general miserable demeaner. we got nothing but grunts out of the guy and i even asked him jokingly to give us service with a smile which received a ‘sorry im not feeling well tonight’ to which i thought ok fair enough. however when my sister asked for fresh chips rather than the ones sitting for ages in the tray he actually ignored her and continued to serve them to her! i mean you can’t get worse service than that in my opinion, he was so rude. yes ok he may not have felt well but then he should not have been there and i felt he was looking down his nose at us as we were a bit tipsy but not drunk. he was not irish so possibly doesn’t come from a culture which drinks but then he is in the wrong job as they get most service from Quinn;s pub next door. i nearly lost the head with him as i expect a basic level of service and told him i refused to take the bad service and cold chips; particularly as the price for them was scandalous to say the least. 1. Dreadful dreadful service. 2. over-inflated prices after 11pm. 3. décor outdated and still the same as 15 years ago. 4. smelly single toilet which both men and women have to use. 5. Poor quality food, nobody wants old cold chips. 6. Terrible working environment for staff, all had miserable faces and should not be working in the service industry. ok rant over.
