Nice place. Lovely staff. It’s a place where you feel comfortable right away. Food seems nice. We only had chips, so hard to feck up. But they were delicious. A beer lovers paradise.

As an American well versed in craft beer, this bar is every bit as good as an American craft beer bar. The staff is very knowledgeable about beer, and offer thoughtful recommendations. They are also liberal with the tastings of draft beer, and have a great bottle selection. Be sure to ask if they have anything special behind the bar!

You want craft beer??? New or a seasoned craft beer drinker… This place is for you! endless options available here from on tap to bottle options, they staff are always on hand to help you choose a beer. Their recommendations have always went down a treat. I actually did the craft beer tasting here, a group of 4 of us… We had a barman serve us up some delights from the on draught range, he talked through the history of each and the brewery. Really knowledgeable, we had a craft beer fanatic with us and with the most unusual questions, the barman was ready with the answers. As the tasting session moved along, I liked how he worked with what we were liking/not liking and actually at one point mixed it up, offering one of the party different ones from the rest of us. They serve pieman pie’s here… Not heard of them… Boy, you are missing out, I kid you not. Pop on down here for a beer and a pie… You will not be disappointed.

There’s a lot to really like about The Beer Market. They have a large selection of beers on tap, all clearly numbered and listed on blackboards. The staff are very friendly and ready to give advice on what beers they have in. They’ll happily give you a few samples before you make up your mind. Don’t expect to be getting a pint for under € 5.50, however, it’s the city center and you’re getting quality world beers. As with the other Galway Bay bars, the food here is pretty solid for pub food and is reasonably priced. The servings are huge, we got the snack board(€ 15) between two and didn’t manage to finish it. They have a lot of deals on sharing platters for parties which looked very reasonable too, definitely worth consideration as a party location for beer lovers. The only negative I had was the atmosphere, compared with the other Galway Bay bars, it is lacking in The Beer Market. I’m not sure if it’s the layout of the bar or it’s location, but it doesn’t seem to have the same buzz.

Elderflower pale ale — can’t get more hipster than that. But it was delish and washed down the lovely sharing platter. The platter could easily feed 4 but of course Brian and I took it upon ourselves to finish it between us! Bartender was very knowledgeable — give him an idea of what kinda ale/lager/stout you like; he’ll recommend a few on draught and let you sample it before committing to a pint. Sound!

This is, by far, the best craft beer bar in Dublin! So many great choices! My wife and I are, dare I say, «beer snobs» from California and this place is above par for a craft beer bar. Additionally, the food is great and the employees were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! If you’re new to Dublin or even a resident who hasn’t been here, it is a MUST.

In the two times I have been here, once on a Sunday evening and the second time on a Saturday evening, there has been a lifeless feel to the place. There is no real atmosphere to the place unlike the other Galway Bay Brewery bars in Dublin. Maybe this will come in time or maybe the location is a bit off the beaten track for people and is destined to stay this way. The beer selection is excellent but you will struggle to find many pints for less than € 5.50. They re-assure you with signs around the place that they are trying to serve the best beers possible, not the cheapest beers. Parting note: beers mixed with Jenga and friends makes for hilarity.

We came here twice now. Have to say some delicious beers on tap. It is a breath of fresh air to pass by some bars on thomas street to arrive at your destination here. The kind of bars where cackling folk would trade their first born for a pint of budweiser and a packet of king crisps. If they could… This is the kind of bar where there are no mainstream marketed products on full sale or sail depending on which way your taste buds gravitate! They also have connect 4. The board game. Although some Americans behind us must have considered it a ‘bored game’ as my girlfriend overheard a man remark that the game which we were playing was wasteful and ‘mindless’. Basically some Americans are a bunch of stupid jerks but there is a seat for everyone here at the beer market! The Pie’s are also delicious if you are feeling a bit peckish I recommend the steak and stout but one reviewer remarked there was a lack of food for sale here. Well last night we viewed the new lunch/dinner menu and they have 8 for € 8 at lunch time. This would be enough to keep the banshee and her bones from rapping on the windows pushing her salt and vinegar laced corn snacks upon hungry revellers any day of the week!

You will get drunk before trying all their beers! Grab a book and head over here for a few tasty craft beers. If you are an extrovert, why then bring some friends and have a laugh while you make a disaster of your selfs in a game of Jenga! There are other games as well and did I mention the craft beers? It most certainly does not put it name to shame and you will need to visit a few times before get even closely familiar with their selections.

Not a huge fan of beer and alcohol, but this place it’s so nice and welcoming that I decided to join my sweet half and his friend for a tasting experience. I tried the Galway Bay Buried at sea and it tastes like coffee and chocolate and tonnes of other things! I was pleased to have tried this place, the owners are super nice and know their beers very well! For sure bring your friends with you and taste a nice beer playing with some games(provided by the shop!). I loved the upper room, so cozy and yet simple. Perfect for rainy days as well!

Lots and lots and lots and lots of beer choices. Not so much food choices(pie, pretzels, and crisps) but that’s okay if you’re just here for beer! They’ve got lots of games lying around(guess who, jenga) and lots of seating space. This is the perfect spot for a lazy weekend afternoon.

The newest GBB bar in Ireland, the beer market offers something a bit different. It’s not as aggressively GBB as the other bars, with only a couple of hints of merchandising and the logo only on the reservations sheet, as far as I could see. They sell the Beer Market t-shirts but none of the others. The departure from the brand is both a pro and a con. On the one hand, it’s nice that you don’t feel you are pushed towards GBB beers– though I must admit they’re all great brews. They only keep 3 or 4 on tap at any one time, to make space for rarer, more international beers. On the other hand, there’s definitely less discernible personality to the place because of this. They haven’t replaced GBB with some other stylistic features, they’ve just removed it. One thing that is unique to the place is the numbered beer taps. The menu is chalkboard above the bar, and you just say which number you’d like. It’s simple, and the menu gives you just enough information to be able to pick something out– ABV, price and a brief description. It’s a good system. One minor thing is that when sitting at the bar you can’t see the draft menu at all, so you have to get up and look. Bit odd. The staff are all super sound, as I’ve come to expect from GBB. The table areas are quite nice– the fake fire is worth a giggle. The beer selection is excellent, and I’d definitely come back!

Lots of beers on tap and a not so crowded bar area with plenty of seating to socialize. Price range is very affordable for the quality of beer. If you don’t know what you want, the staff is pretty accomodating to let you try a small sip to taste. Bathrooms are incredibly tiny. I’m not that tall, but the male stalls are ridiculously hard to get out of. A combination of yoga and tetris is required to get out of the stall.

My modus operandi here us to have one drink and move on. Select something unusual that I haven’t had previously. What is becoming clear now is craft beer is bring used as a opportunity to charge way over the odds. I don’t drink macro beer any more but I would like to see greater competition from a price point of view. 12 euro for a 33cl glass of beer? I know what this costs in the UKUS etc and even add our extortionate tax régime import and shipping costs it’s still out of alignment. The marketing of craft beer = higher price isn’t sustainable.

Ummm interesting concept — lots of beers on tap, and when they’re gone they’re gone. Still(and I must preface this by saying I love the Galway Bay guys) I’m not sure the value is there. It’s quote pricey for what you get and I think we’re approaching ‘the emperor has no clothes’ territory. So in summation, good beers but not sure I’d spend a whole evening here. Good for one perhaps, then move on.

«Fresh Beer! Only today. Tasty beeeeeeer!!! Special prices, especially for you. The nicest beers you’ve ever tasted! Come on people. This is an absolute bargain. Beers beers beers!» Welcome to the Beer Market. They have a lot of beers on tap here. Up to 90% of the beer on tap at Beer Market is not available anywhere else in Ireland. That’s cool. But I am from Amsterdam. All the Irish beers are foreign to me. So I rather go to a normal Irish pub. These beers are a little bit pricey for me.

If you like good beer… go to The Beer Market! The newest addition to the Galway Bay Brewery family doesn’t disappoint! I went to try the Blushing Monk as kriek is something I follow around Dublin like a desperate One Direction fan but unfortunately they were out of it. The barman did recommend a lovely raspberry beer they had on tap, it wasn’t as sweet as I had hoped but it was really good, good enough for me to have a second– which is saying something given the extensive selection of really good beers here. I also had a bottle of La Chouffe, a lovely Belgian pale ale before trying the Foam & Fury which was also on tap. The refreshing thing about this bar is that the taps change on a regular basis meaning you have the opportunity to try different beers you might not find in many other places. The atmosphere is relaxed and there was a nice mix of the after-work crowd and people who came to try some of the great beers on offer. If you get peckish, they serve Pieman pies here, the perfect partner for beer. The only criticism I have is that it’s not that big so it gets packed very easily.

The newest of the Galway Bay bars, doing something different from all the others. Instead of branded beer taps like you’ll see in every other bar in Dublin, here you’ll see a list of numbered taps. The beer in each tap is listed on chalkboards around the top of the bar. Expect to see some spectacular beers that are rare on these shores. The beers also tend to rotate quickly so there’s something new every day. They also have a large selection of bottles if none of the 20 taps take your fancy If you’re peckish, they sell a selection of pies with gravy for € 7.50 as well as crisps. The only downside to this place is it’s a craft beer only bar. No wine, no spirits, no macro breweries. The bar staff are always more than happy to let you sample a beer before you buy if you’re unsure. Next time you’re going to a show in Vicar St, call in and give it a go. If you’re a beer fan, you’ll be in Nirvana.

The newest Galway Bay Brewery bar opened in Christchurch this week(same chain as The Black Sheep, Brew Dock, Against the Grain, Alfie Byrnes and Dark Horse) Came here to try Founders’ Blushing Monk as I had spotted they tweeted this before they opened but unfortunately they’d ran out the night before! Still they had another raspberry beer on draft — Lindeman’s Framboise. I’ve had it before and it’s good. Was pretty quiet when we went but to be fair it was early enough on a very wet Saturday afternoon. Food wise they’re serving Pieman pies all day /night. No nonsense really as its all about beer here! This seems to be a craft beer heaven! They’re only doing craft beer here. They’ve 20 taps and I think I counted maybe 40 different bottles on the blackboard.
