We happened to stay at the Hotel and did our first step on our adventure in Ireland eating at this restaurant. Although it has not been the best restaurant we have eaten at, it has not been the worst. Food was pretty good and tasty. We ordered a soup and the prosciutto and melon plate as starters and the Grilled Irish Chicken Supreme and Risotto as main courses. Everything was really delicious and well presented. Also, the desserts selection(my favorite part of every meal) was really good. We ended getting the strawberry cheesecake and chocolate pudding, both really good. Our server Alexandra was very polite and helpful. She did an excellent job making of our first experience in Dublin a very positive one.

Our Gin Martini was served in champagne glasses because martini glasses were not available — and the drink was weak. The wine we wanted was not available so we had to coax the manager in giving us a similar but more expensive wine. My wife had the pork dish which was overcooked and dry. I had the haddock which was ok but nothing to get excited about. This really is more of a cafeteria style restaurant and good for families or if you happen to stay at the hotel without transportation — as we did.

The Brasserie at Bewleys Hotel is a very traditional hotel restaurant. You’re likely to find restaurants serving the same fare for a slightly exaggerated price in most hotels. You can get all the favourites like pork chops, steaks and chicken breast and all cooked fairly well just lacking somewhat in imagination. This is a good bet for a family function but I don’t think I would come from far to eat here.
