NOTWHEELCHAIRUSERFRIENDLY. Let me quickly set the scene, four girls are on a night out, they’re going to the theatre and are having one drink beforehand and one afterward. Three of those girls meet at the Trinity Bar, two have ordered food when the third arrives, they enjoy the food and drinks which arrive in the usual amount of time. The waitresses are friendly and helpful, the bar staff are rushed off their feet as it is a couple of weeks before Christmas, the girls happily leave the bar and head to meet their friend outside the theatre. They will return to the Trinity bar afterward. Why? Because the Trinity bar is wheelchair user friendly. What follows is the reason why those three happy girls weren’t to enjoy their second drink in the Trinity Bar. One of the girls is a wheelchair user. The two girls who are not wheelchair users wandered into the bar at a normal pace, just to check if the third will be comfortable inside with her assistance dog. The doorman tells us the bar is «full up» despite people waltzing in before and after we were stopped. I wandered back inside to identify this discrepancy to the manager. He was mystified and was fantastic in trying to rectify the problem. Unfortunately he was joined by an aggressive man, presumably his superior, who informed us they were full up(they weren’t) he was just desperately trying to peddle back in case other wheelchair users discovered how horrible this place is to those with limited mobility. I think the most hurtful part of the whole unnecessary incident was the fact my companion reassured me, as a person without limited mobility, not to worry as this happens quite often. Terrible experience, this place is not inclusive or embracing of the human condition. I will NEVER go there again.

Now this was a nice surprise! We stumbled in here hungry(in my case, VERY hungry) after a whiskey tasting and never having been in the place my expectations were basically«food». Well, I will have to come back to give the place the consideration it deserves. The atmosphere is quite lovely — it’s not your slightly smelly old man’s pub, but not too fancy either(it IS a sports bar — something that neither interests nor bothers me, but might be good to know), just a really nice place — there was live music just about to start up as we came in — and the service was flawless. We were seated right away, the food(very good! I had the goat cheese panini and my partner a beautiful thick cook-it-yourself steak on a hot stone plate) came promptly, and when I dropped my knife, a waiter offered me a new one on a napkin before I could so much as try to retrieve it. Five out of five :-)

Great place to watch a game. Lots of screens and easy to see. What surprised and impressed me about this place was the steak. Most steaks in Ireland tend to be a nice quality of meat improperly cooked. Yet with Trinity they bring the steak out on a hot rock so you can cook it yourself as you like it, which is what I did. I will certainly go back.

Not a bad bar around the Temple Bar area of town if you’re looking for somewhere to watch the football but probably not somewhere you’d want to head out on a first date to or to enjoy a romantic night out. Multi-screened up and downstairs meaning they were showing all the Champions League games on when we visited, it’s quite an expansive and cavernous place meaning you’re probably likely to get a seat any time you visit. The beer selection was pretty poor(just averagy lager etc) but it’s always a good opportunity to enjoy a few pints of Guinness when in town if nothing else is worth drinking. Serves a purpose and as sports bars go it’s better than a lot of the random places I’ve been around the world and nipped into to catch the match.

If you’re looking for a great venue to watch a sports game, this is a great choice. We came here to watch the rugby world cup(Australia vs Scotland, what a nail biter!) And were not disappointed. The place was not too packed and we were able to get seats pretty easily. The place is set up nicely with comfortable tables and chairs to sit on for a pint or a meal all the same, not as obvious as you might think for a Dublin pub, so that was already a plus. In terms of watching a match, there were TV screens literally everywhere, so no matter where you sat you had a good vantage point of the match, so that was great. Staff were friendly enough and the service was pretty quick and quite good, both the table service and the service at the bar. Would definitely go here again if there’s a game I want to watch.

Was there lastnite for a second date, it was a great nite. live music but not too loud that you can’t talk. the staff are lovely. we sat upstairs but could still see the band because of the very large screens and tv around. Needless to say well be back maybe even on a 3rd day

loved this bar! I had a really fantastic late-night experience here with the fellow American traveler. The clientele of this place, the bar staff, and the drinks were all very nice and complementary of each other. If you’re looking for a nice night in temple bar without the huge crowd and super drunk people, this is the place for you. Pro tip: I asked for an extra spicy bloody Mary at 2:30AM, and what they gave back to me was one of the best spiciest homemade bloody mary’s I’ve had. Or, if it wasn’t homemade, give me the name of the mix and I’m going to buy a lifetime stock. It was that good.

This is a great pub to watch a match in. There are plenty of TVs everywhere and there are a few places where it’s comfortable enough to stand. The staff are really sound and efficient and constantly running. There are a few pillars in the way of the big screen upstairs but you can work around that. The screens downstairs are super HD! The upstairs bar does tend to run out of drinks and not be able to refill them during the match but if you’re really craving it, sure you can pop downstairs. Great atmosphere during the match.

I think I walked into Trinity Bar the first day I arrived in Dublin but I never would have guessed it’s end up being one of my favorite bars in the whole city. Service is so good, which I think is probably the main thing that makes it a standout in my mind. As soon as you walk in, they greet you, but you seat yourself. It’s just nice knowing that they know you’re there and will be by in a few to get your order whether you’re eating or just grabbing’ a cheeky pint. Plus you can pick yourself out the coziest spot in the place. The atmosphere is good; it’s not to loud for conversation and they have candles(all about that mood lighting, ya know?). They play to much U2, that’s my only complaint. Actually, It’s not a complaint. I support Trinity Bar and their affinity for U2 wholeheartedly. It’s a little touristy, which is a expected given it’s location right outside of temple bar but my American accent and I fit right in. Would return(and have, on multiple occasions).

After walking in an out of several pubs to enjoy a pint in on a sunny Saturday afternoon, my partner and I nestled into a sunny alcove at the Trinity Bar. I drank my 2 pints while he watched the rugby match from one of their plentiful TV’s. The bar is quite large and spacious with an underground venue as well as plentiful seats upstairs. I though it a bit odd that my Kilkenny pint was served in a mug… Or tankard?! But it was lovely. Not the best Kilkenny pint I had but still enjoyable. And hats off to them for having my fave beer on draft.

This bar is good for the night time drinks as there does be great atmosphere and just good fun all around. The live music can be loud sometimes but not to bad. The food can be quite tasty but sometimes on the bland side but that is the same in most pubs i guess. Good choice of cocktails and drinks little bit pricey.

We visited here on a Tuesday Night, so no games were on the Telly, and the crowd was kind of thin, with the exception of a couple of rounds of Hostel pub crawlers stopping through. What made the night great was the duo that was playing that night. As an American, The Irish Cover Singer genre is a hit. The duo that played that night(They had the same last name, but weren’t related) were a blast, There were about 8 of us bantering with them, and the bartenders made EXCELLENT Whisky Sours. They really took care of us, and we had a blast on a normally quiet Tuesday Night. The place is HUGE and gorgeous! a big hodgepodge of decorating styles on every level, so you’ll find a nook you’ll like, guaranteed.

The Trinity is a traditional style sports pub in the hub of activity on Dame St at the edge of the notorious Temple Bar district. and up the street from Trinity College so it has a huge young, college crowd. Good selection of beer but poor wine choices and mediocre pub food. I’m not impressed. I’m not a fan of sports bars with TV’s blaring and the loud hip-hop music is ear shattering! You cannot possibly speak with anyone in that pub without screaming at the top of your lungs! So the entire decibel level between the shouting, music and multiple TV’s baring every conceivably sport from around the world is nerve shattering! Give me the old school Long Hall on Great St George St!
