Wrights has had a makeover, and they have done a stunning job. So now, swish new fish counter, beautiful interior, and the addition of a deli, with fresh coffee, sandwiches, and smoothies plus ready meals made on premise. Excellent.

As im a chef I have come across them a few times. a lot of sales pitch but a thats about it. could do better. If it swims we have it, but how fresh is it, methinks not

Unfortunately, the most striking thing about this shop is the smell that comes out of it — you’ve guessed it, it’s fish — which doesn’t exactly entice you in the door.
It has a smaller range than the famous Wright’s of Howth, with less emphasis on fancy condiments and lobster and more on plain old cod and haddock. Cheery staff and a fair flow of customers show that not everyone has sensitive nostrils.

You probably have seen their van with the mermaid and the trident buzzing around the city supplying the restaurants and shops.
They are the longest established fish monger brand in the city. Their fish is of the highest quality. They have been in business for over one hundred years so you know that they are doing something right. You more than likely have eaten their fish already considering that they supply so many places. I adore their smoked salmon, some of it on some brown bread… Heaven.
