XIT Live Escape Adventure

It’s been a while since I attended something like this and came away feeling like I would definitely do that again.
Some work colleagues and I decided to try a locked room challenge for a bit of fun. We had intended on going to their Egyptian setup, but there were too many of us. So we were given the mystery room to solve.
I won’t give anything away but it was not what I was expecting at all! Surprising, in a very good way! I loved solving all the puzzles, there was so much to see and do and move around. We solved the mystery, but we didn’t really understand how or why, which is why I removed one star. This was an evening I will never forget. I had an amazing time, we really worked together as a team to figure it out. 100% recommend! I would return if I could!

This place is pretty awesome. Went with some colleagues for an offsite. I arranged it and I have to say the girl was so accommodating. I was increasing rooms, decreasing rooms and she was great in the way she dealt with it all.
We booked two rooms for two hours. The curse of the mummy and jailbreak. The first one was so hard but jailbreak was a bit easier.
The host was super friendly and they have drinks and snacks to keep you going — paid obviously but good all the same.
Really good value and worth the entertainment.
Not sure how you would get there easy as it’s in an industrial park but the red cow is close so maybe the luas.
Great couple of hours of fun had.

My friends and I are big game and trivia nerds so when we found out there was a room escape adventure centre in Dublin we couldn’t wait to try it out.
The centre is in a business park just off the Naas road, not too far from the city centre. The previous reviewer got a bus but a car made things so much simplier.
We were buzzed into a unremarkable building and up a stairs into a reception area with comfy couches. It was not necessary but a more atmospheric building would have added to the fun. Our host was really friendly. She told us about the history of the business, read through the health and safety guidelines and explaining we had one hour to escape the room!
We divided into 2 groups as there were 14 of us, 6 went into the Mysterious Investigation and 8 including me into the Philosopher’s Stone.
I don’t want to give anything away. We had a fun filled hour. And although there were 8 of us it took us 57 minutes to escape. Again I think a better decorated room might have added to the fun. The room was also quite small and with half of us tall men it became a little hard to maneuver at times. However this was not a big issue, in fact it added to the fun at times.
The other group went into Mysterious Investigation which I heard had a lot more atmosphere but they escaped quite quickly, around 30 minutes. My friend Melissa plays a lot of mystery games so she may have had an advantage. She even took a note book in with her in order to take notes…
The Mysterious Investigation group entertained themselves while they waited us by watching a monitor of us running about like eijets.
Overall I had a lot of fun and would consider going again. I’ve heard the jailbreak room is a lot of fun. Both physical and mentally challenging.
I wish this business continued success, it’s so lovely to have an activity that you can do on a cold winter day that doesn’t involve alcohol. And at 10 euro, it was a bargain!
I hope they can branch out into a spooky house in the city centre so I can go more often.

I bought a Groupon for XIT because I love scavenger hunts/​games etc.
As my friend Orla and I determined that it would take a 15 minute commuter train ride and then 15 minutes of walking to get there, we decided to do the activity on a weekend. (I would suggest driving there).
We walked into the abandoned looking business park where XIT is located, full of what looked like storage bins and texted her mom our location: deciding that there was a chance this whole thing was an intricate way to murder people.
As we buzzed in, and saw just one man in the unit who informed us that he was going to lock us in a room to see if we could escape, our fears increased. I wished I had something more substantial than a hairbrush in my bag. Was I sure this was actually just a game?
Luckily, the whole thing was not a craigslist killer type event but was actually really great.
Basically, you get locked in a room and there are clues everywhere, you have to use your skills and teamwork to get out of the room in under an hour. if you get too stuck he will give you a hint. It is actually challenging.
Orla and I succeeded in escaping, and I don’t want to give anything away, but it was definitely hard to solve.
I would highly suggest this for a hen, stag, a work party, or just with a few friends. I would not suggest this for any type of first/​second/​third/​fourth date as it is very intense.
Overall, I will definitely go back (I hear they have a Harry Potter themed room now), preferably with someone who drives a car.
