Recently visited for an excellent 10oz Rib Eye Steak(me) and Pork Chop(him). Delicious meat, perfectly prepared served with some lovely sides. Coupled with a nice wine menu, great service and good value pricing makes Weafer and Cooper worth returning to.

I had been meaning to come here for brunch for a while, though with the way I like to spend my weekends(in bed mainly) I have always arrived too late; brunch is until four on Saturdays and Sundays, to find only pizzas being served. This time, I made it for half three, so just about, and dying to pee I made sure to order first so that I didn’t miss out again. Not the most extensive menu but a good amount of choice, I opted for the not really brunch, burger and chips and a big glass of wine. What I found strange was that there was no bar and therefore no draft beers, though there was plenty of what looked like bar space. The beers as such were pint priced but bottled. My wine though, was lovely. The burger was standard; nice and big, albeit a little dry. It came with great chips and I ordered a poached egg on top, specially requested for an extra one euro. After that I shared a sticky toffee pudding and a meringue with berries. Both good, though I saw them being prepared; the pudding taken from the cooler and microwaved which slightly disappointed me. Overall it was an ok experience, nothing wonderful, but good. The service was attentive and generally great(some of the staff however seemed a little too eager). There was one waiter called Conor who stood out as improving our«brunch» significantly. I will be back, I’m sure, for a glass of wine at least.

this is a great neighborhood bistro. The prices are a bit high, but you get that and more in terms of service. Some of the items on the menu are much better than others. We’ve enjoyed the pizza and the burgers. The fries are the best we’ve had in Dublin. This is the friendliest place we’ve been to in Dublin.

I visited yesterday for some brunch. I was quickly shown to a table but unfortunately this was the only positive thing about the experience. I waited for over twenty minutes to place my order and looking around at others this was not unusual. I waited a further 15 minutes for the food to arrive. I ordered eggs Benedict and it was worse than I could make myself. Disappointingly the egg was hard and my partner’s omelet was nothing to write home about. The table near by sent their food back and another complained about the slow service. There are so many delicious cafes in this area I will not be returning to Weafer and Cooper. The pizzas looked delicious but I fear how long they would take to arrive

Would not have known about this restaurant had it not been for the lovely couple volunteering at the James Joyce Tower we had visited earlier in the day. It was a quick walk from our hotel(The Royal Marine) to Weafer & Cooper and well worth it. While our server was a little spacey(she seemed to be having a bad day), the food made up for it. I ordered the 8oz rump heart steak with salsa verde, baked sweet potato, cherry tomato & rocket salad, and it was divine! Really a quality meal in a local spot that opens right up to the street. I ordered a Moscow Mule, which didn’t come out quite as I expected, but was still refreshing. This was certainly a little bit off the beaten path, but well worth it for a solid meal.

The front opens up right onto the main street giving it a European flavour. Luckily we got a table in the hot sunshine of last Sunday, and reviewed the menu with very good wine at just 5.50 a glass. The menu is confusing as it does not distinguish starters properly from main courses. Consequently, my wife’s excellent Crab from Casletownbear came with & Guinness bread and only a light salad rather than one that would make up a dinner meal. Disappointed at not being filled, she opted for the Goats cheese, with walnuts & cranberries salad, but that was then 20 euro for the two. I had the Barbary roast duck in plum sauce, fig, and baby roasties. At 16 euro, good value, tasted excellent and I was full alright. The water served is filtered and tastes well. Still, don’t be put off, just double check what you’re getting. There’s plenty more to eat too, as they do breakfast, brunch, pizza and late dinner. Service & staff delightful too, so we’ll look forward to stopping by again.
