Basilico

Excellent – delicious food and very good service. Had the fried Irish calamari and mascarpone spinach cannelloni. My friend’s lobster ravioli looked good, too. We had the most adorable server, who was very patient with us despite our American accents (English not being his first language) and odd requests (like asking for camomile teabags to take back to the room).

My husband and I just left Basilico and it was awesome! We were greeted warmly, sat right away and enjoyed delicious Italian food in Ireland! The waiters and bartender were awesome and attentive. My husband had the lasagna and I had the spaghetti bolognese. We also shared a caprese salad. Highly recommend!

We had dinner here in 2009 at the suggestion of the bed and breakfast we were staying at and absolutely loved it. There was no doubt that this trip to Ireland had to include another visit. We were not disappointed. The food is delicious and authentic. The staff were friendly and responsive to our needs. We are dinner «early» at 6 pm and nearly had the place to ourselves. After an amazing tiramisu we were telling the waiter that this had been our second visit and he poured us each a complimentary limoncello to enjoy before we left. We will be back next time we pass through Oranmore.

Nice food and family friendly however the staff at front of house and at the bar were rude and this has been my experience each time I have been here.

After finding ourselves hungry in Oranmore we decided to have a look around the town for something to eat. Well that took all of about 4 minutes so we decided to pop into Basilico for dinner.
For a tiny town this place was buzzing, absolutely full! Cool.
The menu was Italian and as always you wonder why its Italian themed but as soon as we heard the waiters talk we knew why. They were all Italian! Cool.
We ordered pizza and I chose the pizza with the novel basil and mayonnaise topping.Cool. I like cookiness and this was right up there. And I am happy to report that the pizza was fantastic! The mayo really worked out great as a topping!
Service was pretty decent too and the prices were reasonable.
We ended up coming back the next night too!
Of all the places we ate in Oranmore this was definitely the very best!

Like a Macaroni Grill dropped right into Ireland. Although everything inside is authentic and the proprietors are actually from Italy, your senses are overwhelmed with the impression that it’s all just a façade. No idea why!
The food’s good, though. The prices are a bit much (e.g. 10 EUR+ for pizzas) but given that it’s attached to a hotel it’s not exactly a surprise. Also seems to get overrun with families and children in the later hours, so it’s clearly a neighborhood draw.

Basilico, on Main St Oranmore is a fantastic Italian restaurant with an extensive menu. You will relly need an extra few minutes to read throught the selection on offer. It also offers an extensive wine menu.
The athmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. It si advisable to book well in advance as this place is always busy.
This restaurant offers everything from meat and fish dishes to vegetarian options. The deserts are to die for!
