This is a good place to take families. In fact there was a family next to us with six kids. I was glad because they took attention away from my badly behaved kid. There were a good amount of lighter items on this menu, which always makes me happy. I liked the fish cakes, didn’t love the goat cheese salad but mostly because I don’t care for sundried tomatoes. My husband liked his chicken wrapped in bacon and filled with stuffing, but the veggies were a bit bland. We didn’t get to try the desserts because of the aforementioned bad behavior but they looked awesome. The home made scones were fantastic!

Wonderful restaurant! Was recommended by a local and he was not wrong. Sea food chowder, crab salad, and a large portion of mussels. Can’t go wrong with this place

My husband and I ate dinner here while visiting Salthill. The restaurant is very close to the water and many places to stay. I had chicken and my husband had the salmon. Both were very tasty. The serving sizes are also fairly large. We also shared the apple crumble at the end of our meal and it was wonderful. The couple next to us tried the berries and ice cream and they said they loved it too! I would recommend to anyone in the area!

Lohans restaurant salthill is a very good restaurant situated on the prom in salthill. They do a very good breakfast with very generous portions especially tons of toast and brown bread. The vegetarian breakfast is excellent naff comes with lots of chips. There is one issue though that I have and that’s the tea. It seems to very poor quality always so for that reason I’m docking them one star.

The Veggie Curry was exceptional I have to say, but my poor hungover friend wanted to change around the breakfast since she’s not crazy about meat either. However, adding a few eggs and taking away rashers and sausages must just be too much for the gombeens in the kitchen. She paid 2.50 over the standard 10 euro for the thing as well. Service wasn’t overly friendly either. The places saving grace though was the view. Wouldn’t be returning in a hurry.

Went here for the chowder(based on the Unilocal reviews) and though we agreed it wasn’t the best we’d had, it was still pretty good. I absolutely loved the chicken sandwich and chips as well. Everything was nicely prepared/presented and the staff were wonderful. Very cozy, welcoming atmosphere, especially after a long stroll on a windy day.

Perfect way to start your day in Salthill! Mini breakfast the perfect amount of food for me, delicious coffee and a view of the sea to top it all off! Would recommend to anyone staying around the Salthill area.

My husband and I stopped in here after a very long drive and were extremely very hungry. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and it we get a lot of mussels but the mussels hardly had any meat in them. Not worth the price at all! I got the seafood open face sandwich on soda bread and it was delicious. I also got their soup of the day which was mushroom. The soup was just okay. My husband got the seafood chowder and it was very good. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves seafood chowder. He also ordered their lunch special ham and cheese sandwich which was all right but nothing special. We happen to try to the beer Hooker and wasn’t a fan of it at all. Our meal was 37 euro which was quite expensive and the service was extremely slow.

Lohan’s has the best seafood chowder I’ve ever had! The brown bread that comes with it is amazing! The have a huge selections of beers from all over the world, just in case you get burnt out drinking the wonderful Irish beers. Its a great place to stop for a lunch break if you walk from Galway city to Salthill. The chowder was amazing and everything I saw other people get looked very good as well. I wish I was in Galway long enough to visit it again.

We ate here, as we were staying in the Salthill area. Really nice view, and the food was not bad either. If you go, get the seafood chowder, by far the best dish there, and the best chowder I’ve ever had, and I live in New England!

This is a great place to eat if you are visiting Galway. Get a seat by the window to get a great view of the waterfront just outside the restaurant. I hear there is live music some nights that is quite good. We went here for lunch, so can only comment that experience. My wife got the Traditional Irish Stew, which she loved, it was cooked great and very hearty, great for the chilly air coming off of the ocean. I had the Turkey Dinner, which consisted of a few slices of turkey breast and mashed potatoes. Both of our meals were excellent, highly recommended.
