Like many of the smaller public libraries in Ireland, this one has a school-like feel, complete with those eye-height wooden shelves and brown-tinged spider plants. But who needs fancy when you are just here to check out the books, which it has in abundance, packing a fine selection into limited space. The foyer is filled with helpful booklets and leaflets on leisure activities and citizens’ rights and it even has a «help yourself» box containing books that the borrowing public have deemed unworthy of consideration.
