Since setting up Mulroy Environmental, a key area of work has involved the site investigation and the remediation of contaminated petroleum facilities. A recent project involved the risk assessment of a contaminated riverside petrol station. This involved the carrying out of Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment using RBCA Chemical Releases Model Toolkit Version 2. A remedial plan for the safe redevelopment of the site has been drawn up and this should commence in February, 2009.

Another key area has involved the processing of a successful Discharge Licence Application for a 19-house residential development in Ballindaggin, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. This Discharge Licence Application involved the design of a Wastewater Treatment Plant which entails a Submerged Membrane Bioreactor followed by a stratified sand polishing filter after which the treated effluent is discharged to groundwater.
