History

Established in 1949.

Established by Michael Whelan in 1949 in Shannon Street, we moved to our current site in O’Connell Street in 1956. The organisation has undergone dramatic change and growth since its inception and we have gone on to become Irelands oldest family-​run camera shop.

We are passionate about our business and cater for all levels of photography. Whilst our core business is photographic cameras, equipment and photographic printing, we have also diversified our services to include photography classes, workshops, and a framing service, as well as studio hire.

There is instant printing available through our kiosks, as well as a Professional Agfa Lab and large format printing. We also offer scanning as a service from print, negative and slide.
